Client stops reporting status, no purple

In Bigbrother, when the client software stopped reporting, the disk,cpu,msgs, etc.. columns would turn to purple after 30 minutes if it did not receive any updates. In Hobbit, the columns just turn into a - (dash). What setting do I need to put to make them turn purple when the Hobbit server doesn't hear from the client? Thanks, Michael

The "bad..." tag is currently handled by the network test tool, so it only works for network tests. Which is rather silly, but it dates from the time when I had to work with what the BB daemon could do. (I'm not even sure if the "ntp" test - despite being done by the bbtest-net tool - will obey a "badntp" tag ...) I'm planning on moving this functionality into the hobbit daemon so it will work for all tests. If you look at the web/maint_form file you'll find all of the form input elements that hobbit-enadis.cgi uses: hostname, enabletest/disabletest, cause, duration, scale. It's fairly easy to do since the bb-replog.cgi tool already has all of the code needed to generate such a report; it already pre-builds these text-format reports when you generate the availability report. I'll keep it in mind for the planned alert rewrite, but right now I think your easiest solution is to just change the procmail or whatever tool you use to invoke hobbit-mailack, and have it generate those mails instead. Ok! That explains the errors make is giving me :) Any special configs I should think about on the clients running BB? There is no general hobbit client yet. The one on SourceForge will only work with Open(?)BSD. You still need to use the BigBrother clients. (I think the BigSister clients will work as well, but I haven't tried them myself). cpu disk procs - need the client for that?

Hi! New here, was looking through the first 4 months of the mailarchive for the answer but none could be found. I've build and installed hobbit server 4.0.4 stable release and everything seems ok. I was running bb19c before without any mods and this looks like a really nice and fast system. I need the servers to send their cpu/disk/procs data to the hobbit server but I cant seem to be able to build the hobbit client 0.3 on CentOS 4.0. Config passes through without a notice and but it fails on make. Or is there a way to utilize bb19c disk/cpu/procs scripts for it? bb is still running on the servers that act like bb-clients but doesnt seem to be able to send the data (yes, ports are open - e.i. 1984 tcp in/out and firewall reloaded with new rules).
