hobbitd_client crashed.

I have a problem with the hobbitd_client crashing on my hobbit server. I get - Program crashed Fatal signal caught! This is a new install of hobbit, I just compiled the 4.2.0 on the server. It's a 64bit box which might have something to do with it. multiple graph definitions work differently in bb-hosts and hobbitserver.cfg?

Hello, I have hosts where I have several graph definition per rrd in bb-hosts, in the forms of TRENDS:*,test:test|test1|test2, with related test,test1,test2 definitions in hobbitgraph.cf I would like to move those into the GRAPHS variable of hobbitserver.cfg but only the test entry is graphed if I put any of the following combination: test:test|test1|test2 test:test1|test2 test:test1 test1 (I do a /etc/init.d/hobbit reload after each modification of the hobbitserver.cfg file) Any hint? Where do I specify SNMP version to use?

I am configuring hobbit for mulitple networks that run different SNMP versions. One network is SNMP version 1 the other network is SNMP version 2c. Currently the network running SNMPver1 is working perfectly however I am getting SNMP authentication failures on my Cisco devices that run SNMP ver2c. Is there a config file that I can manipulate to monitor both networks and not recevie the authentication failures on my cisco switches running SNMP ver2c?

I prefer A, C, then B as the order. A) for the lack of any need to modify a hobbit server that is not under my control. Our Hobbit server is run by a different group. It is not on my mainframe. C) does let me add NEW content like my BACKUP status, but I don't want to call my stuff NEW unless it really is new. If there is an existing Hobbit channel (?) for some data, I want to feed the channel so the non-mainframe admins can see and understand (CPU utilization > 95% can be bad on any platform so mark it red). B) If I come across some data that really is important and might be important across platforms, I would look into modifying Hobbit to support it. I haven't gotten a regular Hobbit client to run in my linux-under-z/VM systems but I would hope that it runs as well as the BigBrother clients I have running in some of my linux guests now. My concern here is really with supplying z/VM data to Hobbit. Using this client as a template, I want to pass other data to hobbit for monitoring and graphing. I have seen the hobbit webpages and graphs showing data like CPU utilization (System, User, IDLE) and User/Proc counts. Is there a manual that details what fields in what hobbit status messages are recorded and graphed by the default hobbit installation? I would like to know more about what each of the default tests is supposed to show so that I can transform my system's data into the format hobbit is expecting. Proper alert escalations question

The goal here is for the secondary on-call person to have a restful nights sleep, assuming that the primary oncall person fixes the problem that caused the alert. * The primary should be alerted immediately upon a problem * The primary should get a RECOVERY page when the alert recovers * The secondary should ONLY get an alert if something is red for 30+ minutes * The secondary should get a RECOVERY page, ONLY if they were alerted in the first place (for a +30min event). * If the primary ACKs an alert, the secondary will not be emailed unless the ACK expires and the service is still red. If I use a ruleset of: HOST=www.foo.com SERVICE=http MAIL primary_oncall at foo.com FORMAT=sms COLOR=red RECOVERED MAIL secondary_oncall at foo.com FORMAT=sms COLOR=red DURATION>30 RECOVERED I do not believe this will work? Because the secondary will still get woke up by the RECOVERED message? Or is Hobbit smart enough that it only sends RECOVERED messages to only MAIL recipients that have previously received an alert?

Hey, I have the graphing working just fine...however the rrd file is huge...below is a sample of the status message getting sent to hobbit. There are 16 terminal users on winserver1. I'm going to continue digging into the docs and mailing list but thought I'd ask while doing so (in case you could save me some time). =G= Note, this is hobbit 4.2.0 (unpatched) and the client is BBWin with a custom script.
