Running Hobbit on custom apache port

Im running my Hobbit apache on a custom port. At the bottom of alerts, it does not specify the port number, and also does not use the FQDN: "See http://hobbitserver/hobbit-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=somehost&SERVICE=cpu" Where can I make a change so that instead I get the FQDN, and the port, like: "See http://hobbitserver.mydomain.com:8000/hobbit-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=somehos…" -Charles

I'm pleased to announce the first version (probably with really much bugs) of a graphs display interface for hobbit. You can download it from http://sourceforge.net/projects/hobbit-perl-cl/ README hobbitperl-graph.pl is a series of scripts aimed at better displaying the graphs generated by hobbit. It work in conjunction with hobbit-graph.cgi to display the data saved into rrd files. With this script you can define group of graphs that will be shown as a group or you can choose one or more graph defined for a host. hobbitperl-graph is composed by 3 scripts: hobbitperl-graph.sh is the shell that will call the perl script hobbitperl-graph.pl is the real script trends2.sh is a script that will add a "trends2" column to each host defined and visible in hobbit This script have 2 way to be called: 1) called from the upper menu 2) called from the trends2 column The script will act differently in respect to the page you're on while calling it: 1) If you're on a hobbit page with hosts/pages/subpages it will let you choose the host 2) If you're inside a test (or call it from the trends2 column) it will only show graphs defined for the host you're on In the first case the page will display 3 box where you can choose: a) the host b) the graph groups (as defined in the configuration file) c) the single graphs you want to display d) what graph you want to see (hourly, daily,weekly,monthly) For the moment you can only choose a single host to display but you can choose multiple group or multiple graphs and view the page with them. In the second case you will not be able to choose the host but you'll only be able to check graphs defined for the host youwas checking while calling the script. When you change host the box containing the groups will change according to what group are defined for that host. When you change group the box containing the test list will change according to what tests are defined for that group (if you select more then one group all test defined for the host will be displayed). Hobbitd test yellow after restart

My hobbitd test goes yellow after a restart, I think for about 5-10 minutes? Aside from doing a NOPROPYELLOW on that test, is there a way to have that test not go yellow after a restart? Thanks, Shane

freebsd-meminfo on amd64

Hi, I'm running 4.2.0 and found there is a problem of freebsd-meminfo on amd64. I have 2G memory and got the following: Total:2033 Free:31335125091216 Change the following line printf("Free:%lu\n", (pagesize / 1024)*(vmdata.t_free / 1024)); to printf("Free:%lu\n", ((int)pagesize / 1024)*(vmdata.t_free / 1024)); Then it works as expected. BTW, I think the logical of free memory can be changed as in http://people.freebsd.org/~rse/dist/freebsd-memory In short, logical free memory are inactive + cache + free. log permissions

Is there a way to tell hobbit to use sudo to read a log file? I want to monitor a log file owned by root, rw for root, nothing for anyone else. It is owned by an application that rolls it and resets permissions. I don't want to mess with the app. I can write a cron job to check and set permissions, but that is not ideal. force client checks from server ?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a possibility to force some kind of client refresh from the hobbit server. For instance, a network problem occurs, and as soon as you have corrected it, you want to check the state of the monitored clients, without allowing for the 5mins delay (by default). hobbit alerting on PAGE in dispinclude file

I have what I call "personal pages" for my co-workers that I have set up in a dispinclude file. It would be very simple to set up alerts for those people using the PAGE matching their personal pages, but in the version of Hobbit I'm using (4.1.2), alerting doesn't seem to work on the pages that are in a dispincluded file. Does anyone know if this ever got implemented, I was scanning through a thread back in Nov 2005? I need something similar based on ports, if a specific port is down I need a specific group notified. Reducing time in port monitoring

I need to monitor port 8888 on one of my servers. Currently I have this setup and working fine. What I need to do is redurce the time to every minute. Im guessing I need to drop the INTERVAL down on the client to 1m so it send the client file to the hobbit server every minute. What do I need to change on the Hobbit server to read the clients data every minute for the port stats? Is it as simple as adding the port:60 to the servers entry in the bb-hosts file?
