[hobbit] Enable/Disable question

Hi, I think this was handled in the past (see http://www.hswn.dk/hobbiton/2006/07/msg00236.html ) Install the actual All-in-one-patch and add the --no-cookies switch in hobbitcgi.cfg # hobbit-enadis.cgi options CGI_ENADIS_OPTS="--no-cookies --env=/opt/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg" For me it works fine. Following all the instructions in the docs, manpages, faqs and alien communications, as well as the very helpful samples provided by list members... no new file ever gets created in ~/data/rrd/<hostname>. I have status, so i know client info is reaching server. I have copied almost verbatim the sample server-side script needed to parse this info and spit it back out to RRD. And i have eschewed NCV and gone in favor of hobbitd_channel --options to make this all work right, or so I thought. If you make a custom script and the rrd file never happens, where would you look first? The serverside script itself? hobbitlaunch. or - -graph.cfg options? Somewhere else? Mars? I notice in the man page for hobbit-enadis.cgi there is this at the end: BUGS When using alternate pagesets, hosts will only show up on the Enable/Disable page if this is accessed from the primary page in which they are defined. So if you have hosts on multiple pages, they will only be visible for disabling from their main page which is not what you would expect. I'm just curious if anyone knows when that might be fixed. Hi Henrik, I think this task is for you: After applying the allinone.patch from 03/10/2006 to the actual 4.2.0 release the task bbdisplay core dumps every time it is executed. hobbit-clients.cfg syntax for LOG

Hi. I am trying to configure hobbit-clients.cfg to flag (change color to red) a string in /var/adm/messages. I can get it to work on a single word, but I want to flag on a string (multiple words). How do I edit the hobbit-clients.cfg file to check for a string instead of a single word? I have tried these settings with no luck: LOG /var/adm/messages "invalid read" LOG /var/adm/messages 'invalid read' LOG /var/adm/messages invalid read LOG /var/adm/messages %"invalid read" LOG /var/adm/messages %'invalid read' LOG /var/adm/messages %(invalid read) Thanks for your help. how to tell server my extension script reports only every 2 hour

I have an extension script to check RAID status every two hours on the client side (interval 2h). It works fine. The status turned PURLE after 5m. I guess the server was expecting the data every 5m by default. How can I tell the server to expect it every 2h instead, for this particular test (and/or for this particular client)?

iostat graph help

Hi. I am new to Hobbit, but so far it is an amazing tool. I have been trying to figure out how to add iostat graphs to the trends column, but I have had no luck. I was hoping someone already knows how to do this. I see that iostat already has a graph configuration ready to use, but I'm not sure how to generate the rrd file. Is there a way to graph iostat? installation permission

Hi, I found that in 4.2.0, most Makefile uses 'cp -p' to install programs, manaul pages, etc. This will result in wrong ownership if you build as a normal user and install by root. I'm wondering why not using 'install' so we can handle ownership and permission at the same file? Regards, Rong-En Fan
