Notes protocol: working as expected?

Hi all, I'm trying to get the notes protocol to work to send data with cfg2html to the hobbit server... I don't know if those are known problems or is working as expected: 1) sending bb localhost "notes HOSTNAME.html pippopluto" Will not create any file it seems that the only way to make the notes protocol to work is to use only the HOSTNAME with no extention like bb localhost "notes HOSTNAME pippopluto" , is this right? 2) the file will not contain only the data sent to hobbit but also the "notes HOSTNAME" at the beginning. Is this normal too? Francesco

Problem with Hobbit graphs

Menu Question

Hello, I'm customizing my menu (menu_items.js), and one of my categories has a long list of servers. The menu that is creates is longer than my browser length, and there are no scroll bars on the menu...so I can never reach the lower items. Aside from splitting this into multiple sub-menus, is there any way for the menu to scroll, or be automatically split into two rows? Thanks Shane

Hi all, new release with some bugfix for beastat and dbcheck and some graph definition for extended statistics of netapp storage in the hobbitgraph.add file (you must patch hobbit server to get the data into rrd file). Changelog: beastat.pl 1.07 - Corrected errors while configuring a domain via "beastat.pl hostname port username password" It got broken some version ago while restructuring the code dbcheck.pl 1.08 - In Custom Check you can hide a column setting the relative column size to 0 - Corrected a problem with displaylegend - Corrected defaultalign value (was incorrectly defined)

integrating help messages in alert pages

Hello, Is there a way to configure some text to appear on the alert page, indicating some procedure to be used to solve said alert ? Let's say that we have several administrators in a network, and that not all of them are completely up-to-date on what procedures one of the others uses. Could this other admin set up some kind of pointer on the service which he uses hobbit to monitor, either to link a URL with some documentation, or to add some text explaining briefly what should be done ? Hi all, I want to check the cupsd and tomcat with entries in the bb-services file, but it doesn't works :-( Who can tell me how the checks works exactly? For the cupsd I'm using the entry: [cupsd] send "GET /printers\r\n" expect "HTTP/0.9 200 OK" port 631 The cupsd delivers a wrong answer. What is meant by the send string? Is it a telnet connection or how can I check the send end expect on the shell? The tomcat is best checked with the shell command: wget http://localhost:8080 | grep "200 OK" Is there a possibility to put something like that in the bb-services file? Hobbit SNMP Trap

Hi All, I want to configure Hobbit to receive SNMP Traps from a third party enterprise NMS tool. I also want to have results of these traps displayed in Hobbit. Hobbit : Status not Available

Hi Henrik, I am encountering this problem "Status not avalable" when I click on green icon like http,bbgen,conn,hobbitd. The cgierror logs is: hobbitsvc connect to bbd failed - Permission denied hobbitsvc Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Connection failed but in info and trends column is working fine. I checked the bb-hostsvc.sh in /usr/libexec/hobbit/cgi-bin and it is own by root with rwxr-xr-x permission. hobbit: How to change the default client port number?

I can't find the information which I need in the list archive. Please help me!!! thanks! Hobbit version: 4.2.0 I change port 1984 to 1937 on hobbit server for Big Brother was running on port 1984. change file hobbitserver.cfg: BBPORT="1937" change file hobbitclient.cfg: BBPORT="1937" It is work on hobbit server. But other server I have changed BBPORT in hobbitclient.cfg on client, but it arrived nothing on the server, only conn is well.
