I just noticed I have a bunch of these in my var/log/hobbit/cgierror.log : $ head cgierror.log *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice Any idea what this is caused by? I searched for that string in the hobbit source code and found nothing. -Charles

Can we use macros in other config files besides hobbit-alerts.cfg? I'm trying to use the following in hobbit-clients.cfg, and it's just not working: $TOMCAT_1_1="prod-app-12|prod-app-15|prod-app-19" $TOMCAT_1_2="prod-app-32" $TOMCAT_1_3="prod-app-23|prod-app-27" $TOMCAT_2_1="prod-app-4|prod-app-7|prod-app-14|prod-app-29" HOST=%($TOMCAT_1_1) PROC "tomcat_1_1" TRACK=tc_1_1 HOST=%($TOMCAT_1_2) PROC "tomcat_1_2" TRACK=tc_1_2 HOST=%($TOMCAT_1_3) PROC "tomcat_1_3" TRACK=tc_1_3 HOST=%($TOMCAT_2_1) PROC "tomcat_2_1" TRACK=tc_2_1 Note: I have many. many more hosts to define, which is why I would prefer to use macros if possible.

Not sure if it can help but some week ago i got some problem on a RHEL4 machine and apache (and php if I remember well) that was caused by selinux security ... I don't know if this can be the case... Hello all, I am installing Hobbit for the first time in over a year..( I am still running RC5 at work in production !! ) and I am having a stupid error that I could use help on. I can't see the web interface! I get : You don't have permission to access /hobbit/ on this server but every directory and every file has 777 permissions on it! any ideas please?? thanks Kevin

bbtest-net hangs

Morning hobbiters I am having an issue with hobbit 4.2.0 built on a RedHat 9.0 system. Basically, after running for about 15 hours or so, the bbtest-net command hangs, and all network tests turn purple. Here is the stanza from the hobbitlaunch.cfg file with regards the bbtest-net [bbnet] ENVFILE /BIG/usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg NEEDS hobbitd CMD bbtest-net --report --ping --checkresponse --debug LOGFILE $BBSERVERLOGS/bb-network.log INTERVAL 5m The last thing in the logs is the retrieval of the DNS for all the hosts and then ... nothing. i.e 2006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host narya.servista.com : 192.168.1.32 2006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host skye.int.servista.com : 192.168.1.452006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host oban.int.servista.com : 192.168.1.722006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host orkney.servista.com : 192.168.1.30 2006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host islay.servista.com : 192.168.1.28 2006-09-02 17:02:11 Got DNS result for host tennessee.int.servista.com : 192.168.1.109 Has anyone had any experience of this kind of issue before? feature reqtes for default tag

Hello Henrik, This is a feature request... We plan to use the "route_LOCATION" tag, but as we have a lot of devices, we would be glad to use the .default. tag in order to avoid too much typing. Unfortunately, this tag only works with some tests and not with the route_LOCATION one. Should it be possible to change the .default. tag so it will also handle the route_ tag (and other network ones) or to create a new .defaultnet. tag ? [hobbit] Disabled systems stay that way, even after enabling them

You've verified this? Maybe try manually sending a new status to the display server with the ./bb command?

1. Do the configure, make, make install thing again with your new options. Very painless since it seems to protect your existing settings. 2. Depends on your webserver. There's a piece of apache config in ~hobbit/server/etc/hobbit-apache.conf that gets configured when you install hobbit. You can either append that to your apache configuration (should work for all versions), or for newer versions of apache add an include line to your config: Include /export/hobbit/server/etc/hobbit-apache.conf This works with apache 2.2 but possibly not earlier versions. It has the advantage that if I change things and/or install a new version then my apache config will be automatically adjusted.
