[hobbit] Weird BBCmd Issue

Same issue with bb, we used 1.9btf as well. In hobbit it just my 3ware script that doing this, if I use my perl wrappers it dosnt fail. It actually pulls data for 20 minutes then goes purple. It did at one time turn purple after 4 hours. I try to run the script from the console it errors out, but when I do bbcmd bash it works fine for another 20minutes or the four hours as I explained. I think the default setting would be to go purple (no report) after 20 minutes - 5 minute polls, 4 polls. When I was using Big Brother 1.9btf I was having a lot of purples come up when the ISP was having issues. I really can't explain why as the detailed page was able to do the tests and report, but it likely was that it wasn't in a timely fashion. Weird BBCmd Issue

I am having this weird issue with bbcmd and environment variable not staying loaded on certain machines. I have a total of 90 centos boxes and 8 of them are starting to turn purple after four test cycles, I run bbcmd bash and it works fine, but after awhile it causes my external script to error out. Any idea what may be causing this ?

Clients going Clear instead of Purple

I monitor several remote networks and servers behind firewalls. I monitor the firewall with the testip tag to avoid DNS lookups, and I use the noping tag for clients behind firewalls. On a couple of occasions a client has stopped reporting and instead of all tests going purple, they go clear. I suspect that it has to do with the noping tag. Should this be happening? Do I have my bbhost file configured wrong? clientupdate and bbproxy

I'm having a problem with the interaction between clientupdate and bbproxy. On our test LAN I have an instance of bbproxy set up which forwards all the incoming messages to the development section of my main Hobbit server. The problem arises because bbproxy is unable to handle the clientupdate procedure. The logfetch.hostname.cfg file is not being created, which means that the "msgs" column is always clear. Is there anyway around this? You can't just place the logfetch...cfg file int the tmp directory, because clientupdate will just erase it before it determines that it has nothing to replace it with. Backing up hobbit

I am trying to create a backup of hobbit so in case the box is stolen, blown up, disappear, vanishes into thin air or even the boogey monster steals it, I can recover with a secondary box in a matter of minutes - hours at most. What I had done with BB was simply backup the entire user's home directory. I had this done every single morning. Each gzipped tar was a mere 15 megs. When I do a du -shc /home/user it reaches 1021M and in /home/user/server/bin/ du -shc core* I see 860M. What are these core* files? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to backup? I don't have the luxury of using tapes or another machine on the same LAN, so I am transporting this data over the Internet. Can anyone point me to a good HTML to Text Converter? I'm sending out pages and the incoming message is HTML, but I want to send it out as text. I want to take all the HTML imbedded in it out. I'm looking on the web, but I can't seem to find anything that will allow me to pipe it through the command. Thanks.James

Hello Group, I am interested to see if anyone has done anything special with super micro product I was figuring NET SNMP and writing out a script to output the power settings and temperature, anyone have something like this in the works ?, I know deadcat dosnt I have search there a few times.
