Fail over?

So, how are others doing this? I have a server set up here in my primary data center. We're monitoring a few thousand hosts right now with a large number of custom externals. I've been tasked with setting up a fail-over or disaster response server in case our primary data center has issues. All of our clients are currently configured to send their messages to the IP address of our primary server. Now, I could just copy the bb-hosts file to the DR site, but then I would only get the network tests since the clients all report to the primary. Would I use bbproxy to do this? But if I install bbproxy on the primary, I won't be proxying the messages if my primary goes down... :( -- Stewart Larsen

Alerts, HTML format

Hello, When the alerts get emailed and received. I see the html code along with the message. What needs to be done so that when the email is received, Outlook recognizes the email as HTML instead of text so that the HTML code is recognized. Thanks..James James Wade

Hello, I'm monitoring an Antispam gateway (postfix + mailscanner-SpamAssassin) via Hobbit. Data monitored are HDs, CPU, memory & so on. I would like to monitor the "mailq" (inbound & outbound emails). Is there a way to do so ? Clean up hosts

I've installed the Hobbit admin tools scripts from http://www.fh-augsburg.de/~henk/hobbit/ and I now have a "Clean host" script. I read the script and while I'm not very knowledgeable on these things I can figure things out for the most part (like why the editor couldn't make a backup - it's always permissions =) and I don't see any action being done in it. Can anyone tell me what this does? Latest snapshot: comment info missing

Hi, I just installed the latest snapshot of hobbit. The comment info is missing on my sub pages. The "current non-green system" page correctly displays them, like "xnode5 (mail)". Monitoring raid in addition to filesystem

I'm looking at one of the demonstration Hobbit servers here: http://tyge.sslug.dk/hobbit/bb.html I noticed that the www.linuxforum.dk host has a raid column - is this a server or a client configuration? I'd love to do this on my Hobbit clients. The test done on those two hosts are using Linux software raid, I believe, which is also what I am using - does this raid test expand beyond this? Client based configuration & disk graphs

Hi, is client based configuration fully supported or is it considered deprecated? Are there some features which do not work using client based configuration (e.g. logfile monitoring or viewing client data in the web interface)? I've noticed that the disk graphs do not show all filesystems reported by the clients. There is always one filesystem missing (count in the script URL one too low). However on the trends page the graph shows up correctly. Is it a bug or configuration issue?
