Hi, I have 2 BBDISPLAY, the users acknoledge events with < info column > It work on my first BBD but do you have a solution if i want synchronize with another bbd ? Historical status not available

When clicking on an icon on the non-Green page, I get a (mostly) blank page with the subject message on it. I tracked this down to running out of inodes, I trimmed history and restarted Hobbit. But, I still can not access the history data. I rebooted the machine and it appears I can see history data for new events, but events from before the reboot still display the above message. -- Rich Smrcina VM Assist, Inc. Hi guys, I want to reconfigure my alerts when it sends me messages about the disk. I only want it to send me the alert if 1 disk on the server goes into a warning or panic mode and Not the full summary. Which file must I edit ? fine tune ? Thanks

hobbitdboard via bbproxy

I have a multi-server setup, with one display/bbnet, and two other bbnet/bbproxy boxes. The only access to the display server from some networks is via the proxies. I now require some of the clients behind one of the proxies to check the status of some of their tests, and I thought hobbitdboard or similar would be ideal. I can use 'bb $displayserver "hobbitdboard host=foo service=bar color=red"' from the proxy, but I can't do 'bb localhost "hobbitdboard host=foo service=bar color=red"' from the proxy, while say 'bb localhost "config bb-msgtab"' does work from the proxy. So, I don't see that I should need to change any configuration on the display server, but why isn't this command working via bbproxy? All boxes are running 4.2.0 with allinone patch from 20061003. Monitor Fujitsu or HP Linux servers

Hello guys, I'm aware that question could be out of the scope of the hobbit but I think many powerful guys here could help me anyway, so here am I ;) I'm running a couple of racked servers from Fujitsu-Siemens or HP company. I'm using Hobbit to monitor them without any problem but I noticed any error from the log when I unplugged one of the two power plug! The warn worked on Sun OS monitored. By any change, do you know any tips or packages could do the trick to noticed an error when a power plug in removed or one of the HD crash (we are using HW RAID) ? Thanks! extended use of procs (the second)

Sorry, my first mail match into another thread (Conn Test Times) ...... Hi ! I would use the procs-function to count several software versions & programms to see which version will be heavily used or nobody cares about it ... (our software developer want's to know it ) ... So, the first shot was to include this in the PROCS test and it runs really good with rrd-files and graphs ... but the procs-test should be only my test for important system-processes ... So i want to have the same test but with another flag like "sfw" or something else ... Is there a solution to use PROCS exactly for another/additional test ? .. or got anybody a another solution or hint for it ? Thanks, Martin

Hi, we had a total outage of hobbit yesterday, with the following message in hobbitd's log : Could not fork checkpoint child:Cannot allocate memory The kernel was too logging such problem and started killing procs : kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1341 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1342 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 24132 (hobbitd). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1343 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1344 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1345 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1345 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1284 (pdnsd). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1286 (pdnsd). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 669 (hobbitd). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 827 (bbtest-net). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 832 (hobbitd). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1346 (devmon). kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 1347 (devmon). We rebooted, same thing. We rebooted again, stopped hobbit, moved the hobbitd.chk away and started over. It works fine now (17h uptime). Henrik, I have a backup copy of the hobbitd.chk file, is it of some interrest to you ? We run hobbit 4.2.0 with some patches on a Linux box (2.6 kernel). [PATCH] Debian packaging fixes

Hi, the attached patch fixes two problems in hobbit 4.2.0: 1.) The package build-depends on librrd0-dev. Alternatively, librrd2-dev can be used, which is present in Debian etch. 2.) In the postinst script of hobbit-client, the used single quotes prevent the variable from being replaced by sed. Instead, double quotes should be used. Best regards, Andreas
