Question regarding Custom Graphs

All: I've just gotten custom graphs to work, on a simple custom script. Now I have bigger fish to fry. I have a number of custom scripts that produce 10 to 20 metrics. I'd like to split these metrics into multiple related/compatible graphs. If it try to produce them all on one chart the results will be so skewed that most results will not be displayable since they are so small when compared to other metrics from the same column. Right now I'm using the NCV module. I understand that there is an external script module that may help with this. The documentation is pretty vague on how this might help. If anyone has examples on how to produce multiple graphs on the same hobbit status page it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jim Richard.

Windows Cluster Monitoring Advice

Hi everyone, I have a requirement to monitor some 2 node Windows 2003 File Clusters . I would like to monitor them with BBWin but I have the following questions: * Should I install the bbwin client on both nodes and activate only one of the nodes for monitoring? With this setup I miss monitoring the local C/D drives on each node. * Is it possible to make bbwin a clustered application? (i.e. one that would failover using the MS clustering mechanism) * The cluster.exe supplied with the bbwin package only shows the cluster groups, not the individual items within the groups. Has anyone written any extended cluster checks that they would possibly share with me? If not I can write my own. I'm sure I can get this information with WMI. At the moment I setup the bbwin client on one of the nodes and then change the registry entry to use the cluster name (i.e I install on a node fileclus1n1 and change the registry key to fileclus1). Is this the correct way to setup the monitoring? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I realise the question should probably be on the BBWIN mailing list, but I thought I would have more chance of getting a reply on this list. Hobbit client help

I am monitoring around 40-50 servers that have a similar hostname and would like to alert out on the disk space like all my other servers. But these servers will not change with any setting I put in the config. The funny thing is that it pages out and watches the LOAD but will not do DISK. Can anyone help me with this? -Josh

files and ports displays went clear!

Hey, The files and ports columns went clear at the same time on both my main hobbit server as well as the backup server, which is refreshed every hour. I have changed nothing; IT says they changed nothing, "must be a hobbit problem". This is every server on hobbit, it now reports no files checked and no port checks defined! Anyone have any ideas? Duplicating a host ?

Hi all, I have a little issue that maye you can help me with. I monitor a server, and for a specific reason, I need it to appear in two differents hobbit pages, but with different names and different process check. The reason is that I need to monitor quite a lot of process for that server, but I also need to create a combotest that includes the "procs" element of that same server, and for that combotest I want only a limited numer of procs to appear. I thought that using the CLIENT: tag in the bb-hosts would allow me to duplicate the host, but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have an idea on how to do this ? Multigraphs not working for me

I have added a client-side extended memory test, reporting data in NCV format... However, when adding --multigraphs=exmem to hobbitcgi.cfg, the first graphs shows up and more links are added for graphs, but they are broken images and all the lines stay on the first graph. Is there a way to clone host definitions in bb-hosts?

I'm using hobbit for monitoring a compute cluster of nearly 1000 identical hosts. I'm using includes in my bb-hosts to keep the file length down, but my included files are comprised of hundreds of hosts all identical except for the ipaddresses and hostnames.
