Need information on Hobbit!

Dear Sir. We are in need of monitoring tool for my Novell eDirectory servers. We have about 15 edirectory servers and we want a tool to monitor those servers. Hence I have some questions on it. 1, Can we run these from workstation to monitor all the servers. 2, In each server, we want monitor things like server up/down, ports. Memory, disk space and so on. Can we monitor all those for each server. 3, Do we need to install this on each server, if so how this impacts on directory performance. 4, Does it show like green/red light when the server is up/down. I am running hobbit 4.2 on SunOS zorn.math.purdue.edu 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R I was using m4 to build my bb-hosts file and so decided to move to the bb-hosts include tag. No. You have the client configured on one interface. It talks out of that i/f and sends all the client data to the Hobbit server. The server is used to monitor the ports and applications that are configured to use the second interface on the client. So the Hobbit server does the checking for if SMTP is running by connecting to port 25 on the second i/f of the client. MSGS from BBWin client goes purple

Can someone help on this? We are having some trouble with BBWin. Our linux clients are configured in central mode, so all the configuration is made on the server. Now we have to watch some Windows clients, which are configured in local mode. The problem is with the "msgs". One specific client goes purple sometimes. But not the entire host, only msgs column. Procs, disk, memory, svcs and etc are all green, only msgs column goes purple. We do a simpler version of this in my company but we manage it using different IP addresses. The client itself reports out through one interface and the network-accessible devices (mail, dns and the like) are tested using a different IP address. Clearcase license tracking script?

Does any one have a ext script to track Clearcase licenses particularly one that graphs? Ive just been "displaying the output of the clearlicense command. We are also running MultiSite under that license.

No disk and cpu status from Linux and Solaris clients

Hi, I'm running a hobbit server on OS X . It should monitor various OS X , Linux and Solaris machines. From OS X clients I get all stats, from Linux (Debian, Suse) and Solaris clients I get only conn, info, ssh and trends . But there I get no disk or cpu stats. Any idea. humph
