While running 4.2.3 on Mac os x ppc, I am seeing the same thing. Reset acknowlegde validity if the status changes.

I installed Xymon 4.2.2 When monitoring for instance the disk capacity I got this unwanted behaviour. I acknowledge a yellow warning with a validity time of 120 minutes. If this warning becomes an error (reaches red threshold) within this period I don't get any mail notification because the validity period of the warning is still active. Can the acknowledge time be reset by a status change? I so, haw can I configure this? best regards Bart

Problems with hobbitgraph... sometimes...

I think I'm missing something... I've setup xymon 4.2.2 on my systems and it seems to be mostly working. However, I think there is a problem with the graphing. Hobbitgraph doesn't seem to be generating graphs for most of my columns -- there is just the magnifying lense icon at the bottom of the detail page where there should be a graph. I can't prove it now, but I have a feeling that there was graphs at the bottom of these pages when I originally set it up, but that the graphs disappeared when the entry moved from "Recent" to "Last change > 24 hours". When I go to the detail page, there is a "hobbitgraph" link at the bottom which quickly disappears (just leaving the magnifying lense icon). Hi, I'm using actually xymon 4.2.3. I check for presence of some files (red if present, else green ), and it's working very well. I'd like to do almost same test with directory. Final objective is : if there is any directory called toto_ANYTHING in /tata (to any level in the directory hierarchy of /tata, I'd like yellow result, else green result). I tried to use : [host] dir:/tata/*/toto_* in my client-local.cfg and HOST=host DIR /tata/*/toto_* yellow NOEXIST in my hobbit-clients.cfg But I get errors (Could not determine size of directory /tata/*/toto_ANYTHING) Do I need to write my own test, or is there an included test that could do what I described ? memory test problem

Hi, I'm running xymon client 4.2.2 on a NAS (arm based) running linux, i compiled successfully xymon for running on it. almost all is perfectly running. Hello, I've updated my main Xymon server to 4.2.2 version (64bit). All is working perfectly and yesterday I've changed the IP of this server. Everything went fine but now, I got troubles with one monitored host (www01, hobbit client 4.2.0+allinone, 32bit). Indeed, every five minutes two tests go red : "procs" and "ports". I don't why but when I click the test, I can see the output of another host (wwwdev01, Xymon client 4.2.2, 64bit) !!! I think my rules are bad in the hobbit-clients.cfg file but no, for me it's correct. Hi, we tried to install xymon-4.3.0-beta1 today and it disabled the Enable/Disable page for some reason. Further investigations showed, that hobbit-enadis.cgi segfaults everytimes. How to split checks between pages?

Hello all, We have a Hobbit(XyMon) 4.2.0 setup in our company, monitoring approxiametely 80 servers. This is all working out fine, but with the growing success of our monitoring come several challenges. We are trying to split up the monitoring of several thing between the administration groups that are responsible for the specific parts being monitored. Splitting between UNIX servers, SAN enclosures and network components is pretty easy, so we have different pages for UNIX servers, SAN enclosures and network components. But the challenge arises when we want our Database admins and our Application admins to have pages for their own checks. I want connection, SSH-daemon processes and system disks to be displayed and monitored by UNIX admins, oracle processes and oracle disks monitored by DBA, application processes and application disks by Application admins. Preferably on different pages with different logins to access them. So far all I've been able to do is setup copy pages with the 'dispinclude', but that does not quite do what I want. For example I setup 'NOPROPRED' in the UNIX versions of the hosts for the 'sap_r3' (an application) check, but that means it is also not propagated on the page for the SAP-admins. (eventhough I made different unix.hosts and sap.hosts files to be included (unix.hosts) and dispincluded (sap.hosts) in bb-hosts ) How do I split the different checks for one host (or cluster) between the different levels of administration, on separate pages? //Danny. PS on a different note: will all traces of BB and hobbit de removed in the configuration filenames in the future as well? It seems like it might be a bit confusing otherwise...

Configuration explanation needed.

Hi Guys I am pretty sure I know how to configure client monitoring from the hobbit-client.cfg file. However could someone just tell me if I am right or wrong. I will include a example and what I think it means HOST=PRMSIIS01 LOAD 50 90 <-- If the CPU goes above 50% usage turn yellow 90% is panic level. What about multicore CPU's here? DISK C 80 90 <-- If disk c is above 80% capacity yellow if over 90% panic. If I have a default section will they get preference over the individual settings? Sorry for the basic questions just need to make sure I am 100% with the program and since no one else can even use Linux here in my office I am pretty much out there by myself. Regards Neil
