Has anyone worked out how to create a link in Xymonton to directly download the code of a test? The monitor page template has a Download field which is why I'm curious. DokuWiki doco suggests it's possible: http://www.dokuwiki.org/syntax#downloadable_code_blocks It doesn't seem to work. The <file> tag isn't supported at all. Old version on xymonton, or my bad? Ignoring filesystems

I’ve added something like this to the DEFAULT section at the end of `hobbit-cleints.cfg`. DISK /mnt IGNORE But if I mount something on /mnt, it still shows up, alerts, etc. Does this have to be specified per-host/per-page/per-class or should it be possible to define such a thing under DEFAULT? Related question: How can I “drop” a single filesystem that I don’t want to see historical data for? TS: Xymon and another BB server

Design question: Currently we have 2 separate networks. We are running BB on both of the networks. The display is on the local network. The separated network can send info to the local network so that the local BB server can display all of the information for us and alert us. There are about 40 servers we need the info from on the separated network. Is there a way to accept the data from the separated BB server into the local Xymon server? We will be replacing the BB server with the Xymon server on the local network. We do not want to punch a hole for each server if we don't have to for security reasons. Additional question: Can an Xymon server on the separated network report all of its info to the local Xymon server for display? Do you need an additional Xymon server on the separated network to just gather the info and forward it to the local Xymon server? All ideas are appreciated! Fresh server install on RHEL5: source or yum repo?

I'm about to begin migrating a hobbit server on Centos5 to an RHEL5 server running xymon. Would like to hear any thoughts/advice on whether to do a source install or a yum repo install. I'm a package management advocate, so I lean toward the yum install, but package management depends on the actual packages in the repo being managed on an ongoing basis. I'd especially like to hear from Buchan M. and Neil F., since Buchan advised Neil about a year ago to do a yum installation.

RHEL5 and xymon client monitoring log files

Folks With your help, the RHEL5 server is now showing up in the hobbit display correctly. This is the xymon client reporting to a hobbit server. Now I have a question about monitoring log files. I have included below, my localclient.cfg file. I want to check /var/log/messages for anything with the word ERROR. Hobbit displays a white smiley face in the msgs column with the message: The client did not report any logfile data I'm running all processes as root, so there shouldn't be any permissions issues. Upgrade from 4.2.0 to 4.3.0-0 beta 2

Hi All, I am doing an upgrade from 4.2.0 to 4.3.0-0 beta 2 on a new server. I have read in the forums, that you can do a brand new server installation (which I have done) and then you just need to stop Xymon on both servers and copy over the "data" directory and modify permissions accordingly to migrate. Is there a way that I can test moving over the data and hosts, then clean up all of the data before trying again? I have tried removing the data from /home/xymon/data and from /home/xymon/server/tmp but each time it has trouble saying it can't access the ACK folder in data or the checkpoint file..... how does it know that it had the info previously, if i have deleted all the data??? Any suggestions would help. Thanks. Geoff.

bb-win & client-local.cfg

Hi all Hoping for a little help on this one. Got a stream of errors coming through from some wintendo clients running bb-win. See example below. We would like to ignore some errors related to certain messages. I was under the impression that the following in client-local.cfg would do it. [win32] eventlog:Security ignore Success eventlog:System ignore Information *eventlog:Application ignore Citrix System Monitoring ignore MetaFrameEvents* Appears to not be the case. How do we configure the client-local.cfg to ignore instances of the first and last error, but not instances like the middle one below? RHEL5 client

Folks I installed the Xymon client on a Red Hat 5 server. It is showing up in the Ghost report with the 127.0.0.1 IP address. I don't see where in the configuration files to set the IP address and/or the host name for the client. Can someone point me to the right place? We run Hobbit on a Red Hat 4 server. TS: Acknowledging a device

I have Xymon 4.3.0-0.beta2 running on CentOS 5.4. I have a device with a client running on it that is being removed. I Acknowledge the RED by entering: 1000 minutes and a message describing the event and hit Enter I have tried checking the Ack Multiple box and not checking the box I tried to just enter the info on the bottom line and do Send - still no change. I get back this message: even if done more than once The ICON for conn stays a RED smiley face and never changes to a RED checkmark. What am I doing wrong?
