I have a page that has some hosts grouped together using the group syntax in hosts.cfg.... My question is, can I add some kind of visible dividing line between grouped hosts ? Newbie - help to install packages/configuration for server/client

Hi, All I am new to this forum and also newbie to the monitoring. I just found out about Xymon and I was wondering if I can have installed a monitoring server in linux (debian squeez) and client in my PC (windows 7), and try some basic monitoring stuffs to start with. Could anyone please send me the link from where I can download Xymon packages and start install ? Is there any tutorials out there that I can follow for server, client installation, configuration and tests ? Thanks Raf

Xymon inside OpenVZ

Hi All, On a fresh install of CentOS 6.2 (inside OpenVZ), I'm having graphs looking like this. The RRD dump / data look fine and graphing appears to be working correctly. Looking at what a normal graph looks like, it appears that its text that is actually garbled. Anyone have any ideas of where to start looking? Hi Everyone, In trying to resolve a trends graph issue it was stated to "set the XYMWEBHIKEY" variable. I haven't been able to find documentation on what and where this is set at. I tried to set it to TRUE in xymonserver.cfg but that doesn't seem to do anything. If anyone could expand on what was meant by setting this value that would be great. CGI error log

Folks of Xymon, I have Xymon 4.3.7 I am getting to the last of my issues and clean up from switching over from Bigbrother 2 years ago. I see a lot of these errors in my CGI error log. 2012-06-11 08:09:40 showgraph Sendto failed: Destination address required 2012-06-11 08:09:40 showgraph Sendto failed: Destination address required 2012-06-11 08:09:49 showgraph Sendto failed: Destination address required 2012-06-11 08:09:49 showgraph Sendto failed: Destination address required 2012-06-11 08:09:49 showgraph Sendto failed: Destination address required I have seen it in every version I have run. I had not address it in the past as things seemed to be working just fine. As I said I am getting to the end of my list of issues. I am sure it has got something to do with the environment. I see it when I view any page that has rrd graphs. I have not had much luck chasing it. And thought I would hit up the group to see if this is something others have seen. Thanks. Kevin H. how to see graphs for last week/month for perticular test ?snapshot report

hi, i have 2 problems.. 1)i want to see last month cpu utilization graph for the perticular host,how can i see that? 2)when i want to see snapshot report for say date 2dec09 7:30am,front pages(bb-html etc) shows time stamp of 2dec09 7:0am,but when i click to see status of perticular test of perticular host,it shows me status of 29oct09 12:40pm.how to overcome it? -- Pankaj V. upgrade from 4.20 to 4.3.7, client update necessary?

existing 4.20 setup, server being retired. New box has 4.3.7 installed and working. Testing some of the external hosts client side scripts (sending to new box) seems to work fine, using the existing 4.2.0 client. Is there a pressing reason the client side stuff must be upgraded, or can I just not bother?

More analysis.cfg vs alerts.cfg fun

Hi folks. I'm still trying to clean up the analysis.cfg and alerts.cfg files to get emails going the way we expect them to when things happen. In the example below, I have a group in analysis.cfg called SRMDBASE. In alerts.cfg I set up a macro called $MAC_SRMDBASE. I want any PROC or SVC alerts for the host called FileMaker01 to send an email to the srmdbase email address. So in alerts I have the section GROUP=SRMDBASE $MAC_SRMDBASE We stopped the PROC fmserver.exe on filemaker01 host and the SRMINFRA team got an email but the srmdbase team didn't. Can someone point me to some insight ? Thanks! red alert page

Hi all, I copy the nongreen.sh to redonly.sh, then I remove only the yellow for only get red alert. If I go to url http://myserver/xymon-cgi/redonly.sh it work great but not in html. I had in xymonmenu.cfg the same string as nongreen.html to get the "redonly.html" But the system do not make one. What do I need to get it work ?
