This issue still exists on 4.3.10, which I'm now running in pre-production. I have holidays.cfg set thusly: Thanksgiving:type=thu month=11 offset=4 Day after Thanksgiving:type=fri month=11 offset=4 ...the result is the following: Thanksgiving 11/21/12 Day after Thanksgiving 11/22/12 ...but, of course, 11/21 and 11/22 of 2012 is Wednesday and Thursday, not Thursday and Friday. http checks for multiple domains in the same server

We have a web server that has 7 web sites running, and about 100 domains. Most of the domains are in the same web site. Currently I have listed the most of the important sites, and I am trying to also get dnsreg (more on that later). What I would like to do, is run http check on these sites once a day, and not every day. Is it possible? Without changing the default http setting? (the top critical sites I want to check on default schedule) While I am on the domain topic, I recently moved the server from hobbit to xymon, but the package deleted most of the hobbit folders automatically and I don't remember exactly which folders I had to put the dnsreg check. I though it was a server/ext but it is possible it is %XYMONHOME/client/ext? Xymon server to monitor off-site cluster [private nodes]

Xymon users & admins, I write to you in seek of help for a problem that may be simple for some but I am having trouble tackling. I will try my best explain: I wish to monitor a scientific computing cluster, these are the details: There is a head node and 9 slave blade servers - 10 nodes total. The slave servers are all connected to a private network, therefore The head node has 2 active network devices - 1 for the private network, and 1 for the outer network to allow remote access to the cluster. This is the ONLY entry/outgoing point If the slave nodes need to go out to the internet for updates, ect.. they connect through a proxy on the head node. My xymon server is located off-site but firewall settings allow communication between the head node of the cluster and my xymon server. I am currently just probing network tests on the head node, I did NOT install a xymon client or server yet on any node of the cluster. How can I get a report pushed / pulled to my xymon server so that I can monitor and test all aspects of EVERY NODE? I want to be able to receive hardware and custom tests as well. Do I need to setup some sort of relay xymon server on the head node, or can I just configure the xymon slave clients to use tinyproxy which is already set up on the head node? Thanks a lot in advance for any help! PS: this cluster is running hadoop, are there any xymon custom scripts/tests for development & computing servers like this? rrd network graphs on windows check

Hello, Since january 2012 I continued the development of an alternative windows monitoring agent that is based on the Nagios client NSCient++ See the checkwin monitor in Xymonton or http://code.google.com/p/checkwin/ I would like to add some network statistics the same way as we have in the BBWin client. I wrote the script that captures the inbound and outbound traffic values through the “netstat –e” command but I don’t know how I have to load it to the Xymon server. In the source code I found the “do_ifstat.c” module In which I could find the code /* IP Ibytes Obytes */ /* 192.168.0.1 1818 1802 */ static const char *ifstat_bbwin_exprs[] = { "^([a-zA-Z0-9.:]+)\\s+([0-9]+)\\s+([0-9]+)" }; Can someone explain me to which xymon test I should post my ifstat info? J OK, did some experimentation: Using log:security:5120 (for example) results in "[logfile:log:security] ERROR: The system cannot find file specified". I read that someone had tried eventlog:security:5120 but that gets the same error with tlog:security being not found. This is from tcpdump and could not find it in any logs. So, randomly trying things, I don't get the error if I use msgs:security:5120 but is is unclear that this is recognised by the client. In all cases, all entries have no effect - having the entry for a specific eventlog or not, having ignore statements, even putting :128 to limit the amount of data) and all logs are sent to xymond in their entirety and appear on the msgs page for that host under "Full log". I have setup the graph which is showing no data. The output contains NCV value and some detailed output after that, how rrd will get the data from NCV value only and ignore other output?

I'm setting up a number of windows 2008 and 2012 (64bit) servers with bbwin and am not able to include the evenlog msgs on systems with comparatively large eventlog output - I often get "Data flooding from 1.2.3.4 - 1st line client hostname.domain .bbwin win32" from xymond for multiple hosts, always "1st line client". I'm running xymon 4.3.10. If I remove the msgs collection (msgs.dll) from the bbwin client the problem goes away, but we do need to monitor the event logs. Just to clarify, I assume the "client" in the "1st line client" part relate to client data, ie the MAXMSG_CLIENT parameter in xymonserver.cfg, is that the case?
