Not having much luck with this. Our HP servers are mostly HP Proliants, G5 through G8, mostly blades with some standalone, plus the HP bladesystems. The HP's are running a mix of Linux, x86 Solaris, VMWare ESXi and Windows.I'd like to get the information out of the ILO without having to run the HP utilities, because that gives us OS-independent monitoring. The ILO does have an option to take SNMP queries (as opposed to passing them through to an agent on the OS) but I don't think these are the right MIB's for these boxes. I can do an snmpwalk from my xymon dev server, but SNMPget just gets me variations on "There is no such variable name in this MIB " or " No Such Instance currently exists at this OID". (are the MIB's different for ILO vs pass-through SNMP, do you suppose?) I am having an issue with the fqdn and big brother bb18c version using BBWIN client version 1.1. If I setup servers without the fqdn, they report proeprly to BB showing all indicators. If I try to use FQDN even though it matches in the bb-hosts file, I get noting unless a check is "bad:. When it hits a threshold, then it show up ONLY in the condensed dispaly, not the host display for the particular batch of servers. I had found 2 problems that are reproducable only on 4.3.11 XyMon server (CentOS release 6.4 (Final)), on 4.3.4 (CentOS release 5.6 (Final)) works fine. smtp test oddness

Multiple TRACK for dir usage

I am using below configuration in analysis.cfg (we dont want any alert). Just wanted to know is there a way to do it in one line ? Suppose I have 10 dir to check usage for then i will have to add 10 DIR lines which I wanted to avoid. DIR /tmp TRACK="tmp" DIR /var TRACK="var" Thanks, Deepak

bb-ESXi.pl

I got this ext script working. There were 2 secrets. Maybe 3. First I modified it to be xymon-ESXi.pl. Changing BB to XYMON and BBHOME to XYMONHOME. Etc. Second, I found that it was looking for a file .esxpass in $XYMONHOME. This is the password to get into the ESXi host. The bb-ESX.pl had it hard coded. Lastly, my root password for the servers has bad characters in it. I have to think up a new root password now. Actually. I'd rather add a user 'xymon' to the ESXi host. But I haven't been able to get that to work at all. Does anybody know how to get that to work? I'm also backfilling the bb-ESX.pl script to use the .esxpass file. Paul.

Separate the columns out of the server

I have several columns of a server for monitoring cloud things. This monitoring is is done my custom scipts. I want to separate those columns under new heading like "Cloud Monitoring" instead of under the server where these scripts are configured. Is this possible with 4.3.10 version ?

Since we haven't started all that , from here it looks as though parsing all the nice English text from SSH'ing to the ILO would be cleaner than trying to hunt down all the MIB's. But I'm open to suggestion and would enjoy seeing what you have if you are open to sharing it. trimhistory and "No events received in the last 240 minutes"

Hi, Since I launched this command "./trimhistory --cutoff=`date +%s --date="1 Feb 2011"` --drop --dropsvcs --droplogs --progress" I don't have anymore any event displayed in the "Non-green systems" page : "No events received in the last 240 minutes" and "No events acknowledged in the last 240 minutes" Anyones knows why ? Thanks
