I am using bb-memory to get memory data for each of my hosts and I am seeing an odd result. This is from a system with 16 gig of memory installed: Memory Used Total Percentage ----------------------------------------------- Physical 682M 784M 86% Actual 66M 784M 8% Swap 0M 2047M 0% The host is running linux....any ideas why I see this reading? regex for service in hobbit-alerts.cfg

hobbit doesnt match my contents with SERVICE=http,%tcp.*,%cont.* nor with SERVICE=http,%(tcp|cont).* but matches with SERVICE=http,%cont.* is it possible to have several services with regex ? -- Olivier Beau

Is it possible to use the "--ignorecolumns" option when generating pagesets?...such as to get rid of the "msgs" column?? If so, where exactly would I specify that option? Thanks KEvin

info page and alerts

Seems like the info page does not understand the STOP and UNMATCHED keywords. I have a server that I set alarms based on hostname to 2 particular addresses with the STOP keyword. At the bottom I have a catchall UNMATCHED rule. The info page on hobbit shows the alerts for both the STOP and UNMATCHED set, but hobbit only alarms the STOP rules. Maybe a bug? -- Christopher T. maint.pl and alarms

Last night I had the first opportunity to use maint.pl. After performing so tasks to get it to work (Let apache have permissions to bb commands, let apache run at jobs (may want to put a hint about this)) I was able to schedule a downtime for a particular machine from 8:30 - 9:00 this morning. I received no alarms between 8:30 and 9:00 so I was happy it worked. However at 9am when hobbit enabled the service, hobbit-alert sent 4 alarms in purple states for the various test. Within minutes they went green after hobbit performed the test (content, https, sslcert and conn). This seems like a bug. Shouldn't hobbit try to poll the service just before enabling (or give some grace period) so it will come on in a green state (and not purple)? -- Christopher T. [hobbit] External scripts

I looked at the log file and its empty. When hobbit starts it creates the log file but nothing is ever writen to it. Any ideas what enviornment varables need to be set? I didnt add anything to the bbsys.local on the BB install. I am running other external scripts that work fine. The most common reason for BB extensions failing with Hobbit is that some environment variables defined by the BB configuration files are not setup by Hobbit.
