Nothing showing except CONN for one host

I have a single host that won’t show anything but the CONN column on the display page for it. It is running a client, but nothing is being populated on the server end. I have many, many other clients installed, some in this same location and on the same network. Normally this might be a short name vs FQDN name in bb-hosts, but I have both the short and fqdn in the file currently. I am running an older version of Xymon 4.2 still, but again no issue with other hosts. Any other idea what might be causing the DISPLAY not to be populated? Thanks

stop monitoring "maint"

running an ancient version of xymon - 4.2.3 - in the mode where the client sends the monitored info back to the server via a client process running on the monitored server. How can we stop "maint" monitoing, or at least the reporting of the maint reports? cheers Ian

Combine multiple graphs

Hi, I have 10 nodes in a cluster and have custom script which creates graph of application's response time. X and Y axis are same for all. I have to see each node's graph how they are behaving. Is there a ways where I can see all 10 graphs in one graph with different colors. Thanks, Deepak

I was looking at the code / Trunk information and saw that there is activity on the code. 1 . Is there a discussion group that would give information about the progress of the different trunk and tree? In the Branches I see the different releases and the date of reference. Release 4.3.17 Date of 2014-02-23. Release 4.3.18 is appears to be in progress and active with a date of 2014-05-04 2. - Is there a plan to finish this release soon? 3 - I had some questions also about the msgcache.c process. 3a. - Is this something that can run on a Windows system? 3b. - Or should we have a Unix system in our Windows sub-net to collect the Windows Client information to pass onto a general server? 3c. - What have others done? Entry in combo.cfg: result of combo-test is OK, but there's a broken graph in the test

Hello, i've the following in my combo.cfg: Config-Cluster.watchguard.proxy = (watchguard\-1.proxy) && (watchguard\-2.proxy) Config-Cluster.watchguard.smtp = (watchguard\-1.smtp) && (watchguard\-2.smtp) ...and the following in my hosts.cfg: 0.0.0.0 Config-Cluster.watchguard # noconn The results which are displayed in the columns "proxy" and "smtp" of the host "Config-cluster-watchguard" are as expected and OK. But at the bottom of the page there are broken graphs that don't get displayed. Since I don't need those graphs - how can I delete them or configure Xymon the way they don't come into that page? Hi all, Consider the following hosts.cfg: page testpage1 Test page 1 group-only test1 0.0.0.0 testserver page testpage2 Test page 2 group-only test2 0.0.0.0 testserver page hostdefs Host definitions 10.100.252.1 testserver # prefer And alerts.cfg: PAGE=testpage1 COLOR=red DURATION>5 $ALERT_TYPE_1 PAGE=testpage2 COLOR=red DURATION>5 $ALERT_TYPE_2 I would expect xymon to alert with $ALERT_TYPE_1 when testserver.test1 goes red. What actually happens is that sometimes $ALERT_TYPE_2 gets triggered as well, even though test1 does not appear on the page testpage2. Anyone has any ideas? monitoring msgs

Hi all. I am really struggling to understand how to monitor msgs in xymon. I have read the man pages over anhd over and nothing I am doing seems to work. In the client I have the following files in ~/client/etc client-local.cfg: log:/var/log/messages:4096 localclient.cfg: LOG /var/log/messages warn COLOR=red The actual msgs report in the xymon web page says " System logs at Fri May 30 10:29:38 BST 2014 : No log data available The client did not report any logfile data " I need a dummies guide to msgs monitoring! If anyone could provide such a beast i would be immensely grateful. cheers Ian
