Date/Time options for Report URLs

We are using a display management system to cycle through the various report displays that Xymon generates, for example the "Top Changes" & "Event Log" reports. Right now I have figured out how to setup the URL to generate the report for today, but the problem is that I have to manually update the display manager to pass the URL with today's date in order to get today's information: The URL is (using xymon.com as the example site): http://www.xymon.com/xymon-cgi/topchanges.sh?FROMTIME=2013/02/05 at 00:00:00&TOTIME=&HOSTMATCH=&EXHOSTMATCH=&PAGEMATCH=&PATHLIST=&EXPAGEMATCH=&TESTMATCH=&EXTESTMATCH=&COLORMATCH=&COUNTTYPE=events&TOP=10&Send=Show If you notice the "FROMTIME=" section has it manually entered in as '2013/02/05 at 00:00:00', which I have to update every day to the new date. Actually I have it set to '2013/02/01 at 00:00:00' and have it as a monthly view, but I would like it to be a daily view, as well as not have to change it every day/month. My question is are any of the following options possibilities? 1. Be able to pass some key words on the URL such as TODAY, YESTERDAY, TOMORROW. So that I could construct the URL as simply "FROMTIME=Today" or "FROMTIME=YESTERDAY", this way Xymon would just pass me the data for the day. 2. Could I pass the date/time without the "@00:00:00", and have Xymon assume 00:00:00. Since I can have the display management system sort of pass the date dynamically, but I can't have it append the @00:00:00. So if I could construct the URL in the following manner "FROMTIME=2013/02/05&TOTIME=2013/02/06" I would get the report for 2013/02/05 3. Possibly even change the format of the "FROMTIME=" to MM/DD/YYYY , again without the @00:00:00, so it can work more with US date/time options?

When trying to install it kept failing due to unresolved dependencies it failed to install. However I then used Macport to install the dependencies seperately and then I could carry on with the Xymon installation. Silly. (I change df -k to df -h to get a clearer display of disk statistics on every Xymon client I am responsible for.) Raspberry Pi Xymon Server

Hi, I forgot to mention in my last posts that my Xymon server is a Raspberry Pi (512Mb, 950MHz clock) running Debian Squeeze and using a 32GB SD card for the main disk. The server is currently monitoring a Sun T2000 Solaris 10 box and an Apple Mac Mini as well as itself. (It is using minimal CPU.) I compiled the latest Xymon on the Pi. No graph for xymonnet

Hi I am not getting any graph for xymonnet. I am running xymon 4.3.10 I do have a xymonnet.rrd file -rw-r--r-- 1 xymon xymon 20K 2013-01-23 14:49 xymonnet.rrd It's name is runtime and type is GAUGE per rrdtool dump When I tried to draw a graph it did not like GAUGE type. # rrdtool graph /tmp/test.png DEF:p1=xymonnet.rrd:runtime:GAUGE LINE2:p1#ff00ff ERROR: Unknown CF 'GAUGE' in 'DEF:p1=xymonnet.rrd:runtime:GAUGE' So I changed it to AVERAGE type, but the graph is empty. # rrdtool graph /tmp/test.png DEF:p1=xymonnet.rrd:runtime:AVERAGE LINE2:p1#ff00ff481x149 # ls -lh /tmp/test.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6.1K 2013-01-23 15:18 /tmp/test.png # display /tmp/test.png shows empty graph. Proxy Priority?

Alert on Log Entry

Xymon client on private network - proxy solution?

Xymon users & admins, I have a few servers(LDAP, QNAP/NFS, etc..) that are located on a private network but can be reached via ssh by tunneling through various other servers which are connected to the internet. I need to figure out how to have these private network clients send xymon reports to my xymon server located on the outside. I will try and map out the situation so you guys can have a better visual idea with fictional IPs. 2 Main subnets are controlled by me 120.15.130.x 120.15.131.x Server A : Main XYMON Server - 120.15.131.1 Server B : Current working Xymon Client - 120.15.131.2 & 192.168.1.2 (2nd NIC connected to a switch which is not connected to any other outside network) Server C : NFS Server - 192.168.1.3 - I need an xymon client installed on here and to be able to communicate(push reports) to the main xymon server by going through Server B(proxy). As you can see the NFS server is not accessible from the main two subnets (120.15.130/131), only accessible from a server connected to the switch. Connecting the xymon server to the private switch is not an option. Is there anyway I can have Server B proxy the report from Server C to Server A. Server B is already running tinyproxy, can I use this or do I have to use a special xymonproxy extension? I would like to avoid having a 2nd full xymon server, I would just like one of my current xymon clients to act as a proxy or relay server. Appreciate any help. rdp unexpected response

I had to rebuild my xymon server. I had it running well for years, but it needed a nice upgrade and I did this a couple of months ago. However a lot of the custom configuration I don't remember and I can't find in google. A lot of my rdp checks are getting Unexpected service response. I think most likely is because they have NLA (Network Level Authentication) selected. Is there a way to check without changing that setting? Most of my servers do not require access to other users so I don't want to lower the setting. Maybe the setting needs to be updated? Alternative to conn test - check for any incoming data from client?

Hi there, Quite a few of the clients I've setup to be monitored, are behind a firewall which does not allow a response to ping. As such, I can not use the conn test, a function which I do believe is rather important. As an alternative, I would like to have a (possibly periodic) check, to see whether any data is incoming from these clients, as an alternative to the connection test.. afterall, incoming data = working connection, at least between the client at the Xymon server. Might any one have any recommendations or perhaps a sample on how to accomplish such a feat? Kind regards, Joost Hillen. System Administrator Draads bv.
