Issue with the hardware monitoring.

We are monitoring about Windows 2003, 340+ servers using the Xymon. We have various models like of IBM,HP and DELL. We have installed the respective client packages like IBM Director, HP Insight and DELL Open Manage agents on the client side. We have configured appropriate community strings. Out of which very few of them we are able to get the status. Majority of the servers were not able to do the hardware monitoring. Checked the SNMP configuration at the client side several times, did not find any issue with it. We have opened all the required ports for this one. Can any of you help to get the light of this issue? xymon 4.3.3 svcstatus

Both xymon 4.2.3 and xymon 4.3.2 run on my my mac without issue. I've been trying to get xymon 4.3.3 running, but I am having difficulties. The xymon 4.3.3 svcstatus cgi script is throwing apache errors: Premature end of script headers: svcstatus.sh, referer: http://localhost/xymon/xymon.html. I tried setting debug in the svstatus.sh by changing the script to exec /Users/hobbit/server/bin/svcstatus.cgi $CGI_SVC_OPTS --debug 2>&1 1>/tmp/cgi.log. Not much shows up in the log. http://localhost/xymon-cgi/svcstatus.sh?HOST=mymac&SERVICE=xymongen returns the following: # more cgi.log 52417 2011-05-21 22:32:07 CGI: Request method='GET', data='HOST=mymac&SERVICE=xymongen' No core files to be found anywhere. Any thoughts on how to resolve the issue? I'm stumped.

Hi, We must change IP address of the xymon server. Once you change address is enough to change the occurrences of the old ip in the *. cfg files or we need to perform some particular action (ie reinstall?) regards, Massimiliano A.

Any fun ideas for generating regular reports?

Wondering if anyone's doing anything interesting with regular reports? For example, it would be useful to generate a monthly report showing the CPU utilization graph for a cluster (or, dream on, even a monthly report showing *highest* CPU...)

Question about xymonproxy

Hi all, Is it possible to use xymonproxy to forward statuses from one xymon server to another for a group of hosts and not all? It looks to me like all or nothing. I know the easiest thing would be to update the XYMSERVERS variable, but some of these servers are secured and the process to gain access would take forever. So I'm getting the error message periodically. Maybe once every other day. Then the test goes purple. It started when I setup my second proxy. The 2 proxies send the same info (all the same clients) but get to the main server from different paths. I'm thinking I need to have one of the machines not send to the main server, unless it can't see the first proxy. Does that seem reasonable? Hi all, I have web server who is hosting some different web site like : http://srv-01/index.html http://srv-01:8081/test http://srv-01:50000/ In the column "http", those are all green, but I try to find if we can make those address clickable to see the page. Right now I do copy/paste, but a click should be better. Let me know if someone have any idea. David Raymond
