cluster executable on Windows 2008 R2 x64?

Hey all, Does anyone have a cluster.exe that works with Windows 2008 R2 x64? I can't get it to work with this OS and I'm assuming it's because Microsoft changed something since the cluster script was written. Fresh SVN-install yields "link stdnormal_footer" on all subpages

Hi, I just did a fresh SVN install of 4.3b3 (4.3.0-0.20101114.beta3) and on all my subpages I get the "link stdnormal_footer" written in plain-text. Seems like all the footer-files in the webfiles/web-directory contains that string - shouldn't they simply symlink to the stdnormal_footer file? Regards, Carl Melgaard

How to suppress alerts when combo-testing?

Hi, Im monitoring a cluster-setup, a/b-nodes + cluster ressource: 10.83.13.12 bskidmsrv001.bsk.rm.dk # COMMENT:"SLES11cluster-res" prefer 10.83.13.10 bskidmsrv001a.bsk.rm.dk # COMMENT:"SLES11a" ldap ldaps ntp ntpd badntp:1:3:3 prefer NOCOLUMNS:ldap,ldaps 10.83.13.11 bskidmsrv001b.bsk.rm.dk # COMMENT:"SLES11b" ldap ldaps ntp ntpd badntp:1:3:3 prefer NOCOLUMNS:ldap,ldaps ldap + ldaps will always be red on one of the nodes, so I've made a combotest to insert on the cluster-ressource: bskidmsrv001.bsk.rm.dk.ldap = ( bskidmsrv001a.bsk.rm.dk.ldap + bskidmsrv001b.bsk.rm.dk.ldap ) == 1 bskidmsrv001.bsk.rm.dk.ldaps = ( bskidmsrv001a.bsk.rm.dk.ldaps + bskidmsrv001b.bsk.rm.dk.ldaps ) == 1 This works on - the green status shows up on the cluster-resseource host - BUT I still get alerting on all the hidden red-tests, and I can still acknowledge all of the tests, I thought I hid away with NOCOLUMNS. Hi Guys, I configured both XYMON client and server into our client side, it working fine. I want to monitor it into our offshore office(in different place). In our offshore office I configured XYMON server. I connected client side XYMON server to our offshore office XYMON server. But I am unable to get data from client side(XYMON server) to our offshore office XYMON server. Following errors are shown: 1. If I check bbd(Client side Collector Server) error is: Service bbd on abixymon.mtncameroon.net is not OK : Service unavailable (connect timeout) Seconds: 0.00 2. If I check http(Client side Collector Server) error is: http://abixymon.mtncameroon.net/ - DNS error Seconds: 0.00 Kindly provide me the solution for the same. With Regards, Jayanta.

patches for 4.3 beta release?

Are there any recommended patches or a patch set that I should apply to the 4.3 beta before I test it? I'm about to upgrade one of my xymon 4.2.3 installs to test the new beta and figured I'd ask. Tom

Feature: Grouped Non-green view

I sent this message the other day but it appears to be strangely split up in the archives: http://www.xymon.com/archive/2010/12/msg00030.html http://www.xymon.com/archive/2010/12/msg00031.html So I'm resending it: I'd love to see an option for the "non-green view" (bb2) to be grouped by the "page" attribute in bb-hosts. I would visualize this as still having a list one one page but separated by the title of each "page" while maintaining the page sort order as in the main view. >From what I can tell this functionality would live in bbgen, I looked through its help file but didn't see any option to enable this. I would see this as a useful way to assist in troubleshoot or to organize what systems to fix during outage or possibly scheduled maintenance where you may have a large portion of your hosts down. For example, we have a page for the core of our network that's first in bb-hosts. Having this always at the top instead of mixed in with 100's of other things we would be great. Looking at bbdisplay/pagegen.c under do_bb2_page I see: bb2page.subpages = NULL; bb2page.groups = NULL; But no other references to these. Is this feature on the roadmap? --Chris

BB to the latest Xymon - Input Wanted

Our organization if currently trying to decide which direction to go for our new monitoring system (Xymon, Nagios, Zabbix or other open source products). We have been using BB for several years and have found it adaquate for our needs, but it has some drawbacks that we want to rectify (graphing, snmp for routers and switches etc). I set up a small test site some time ago with Xymon 4.2.3 and used some of our custom BB scripts with it. Everything seemed to work fine and it seems to satisfy the graphing issue one the Xymon client gets installed on the client systems. It appears, at least for now that Devmon is the best choice for SNMP with Xymon? Part of the argument for going with Xymon is the ease in which we can use our custom BB scripts. Looking at the latest 4.3 Xymon version if appears that many of the file names have changed from the 4.2.3 version (bb-hosts, config files etc.). All that said, here are few concerns that have been brought up, any comments would be appreciated: 1. Can the 4.3 (future stable version) easily run our existing BB scripts. I know 4.2.3 can, but was curious about 4.3 and the file name changes. Looking at the latest BB to Xymon doc it seems that it should be ok. Just looking for comfirmation. 2. We like that Xymon has a nice way to monitor log files for certain events and unauthorized ports being opened, are there any issues with system performance when monitoring log files for a "lot" of events. I know a lot could mean many things, but has anyone run into performance issues? 3. Is Devmon still the recommended way to use SNMP with Xymon? Are there plans to incorporate SNMP into future releases? Some here want to use Cacti. 4. In the test 4.2.3 server system I added some hosts in the hobbits-clients.cfg file with some PROC, PORT (to look for unauthorized listeners), and LOG rules. With only a few hosts, it became apparent that this file will become huge very quickly and somewhat unruly. Is there a better way to handle this? It seems that a site with 100+ or 1000+ hosts all having an entry in the hobbits-clients.cfg on the Xymon server the file will be unmanageable. Maybe I'm not doing this correctly, since I set this test up fairly quickly? Thanks for the input.

4.3.0 beta3 compile problem on solaris 10 sparc

Hi, I tried replying to this thread 3 times but it just disappears, trying a new mail with the same subject. Thanx, That fixed the first problem. Now I have the ld problem as described. How do I tell the compilation to use /usr/local/bin/ld? It seems embedded in the c-ares tar.gz file I made a dirty fix by linking /usr/ccs/bin/ld to /usr/local/bin/ld. [xymon]Partition Disk w2K8 disable

Hello, I have a wired problem . I can't delete a partition (disk) to my windows 2008R2, The hobbit client detect a partition ... but when a tried to found ( in windows ) the partition i have nothing ... So it's not un problem , i need juste to disable the partition to my bbwin.cfg config. But nothing append ...
