The Man page for hobbit states that : When checking websites, it is possible to not only check that the webserver is responding, but also that the response looks correct by matching the response against a pre-defined pattern or a checksum Can anybody tell me how to configure this? I want to run a http test on a webserver. If the webserver does not return the response I am expecting then alert me that something has changed on the server. regards Brian

Custom Purple Times

Hi All, Firstly apologies if this is something I should have been able to locate on the mailing list; I've had a quick look but nothing appeared to answer it... I have an external test (shell script) that runs on my Xymon server (4.2.3), and logs into device web servers and gets a segment of HTML and performs some processing on it and sends to the xymon via the bb command. As there are 100 of these devices, I dont really want to be running this test every 10 minutes or so; and I also dont want to have 100 hosts going purple after 20 minutes. I realise I could call hobbitd with the --no-purple option; but purple is useful under many of the other tests. Is there a way of specifying no purple status on a per test basis? If I specify a hobbitlaunch time of greater than 20 minutes, would the test go purple waiting for hobbitlaunch to run the external again? Is there any other way that I could run this test once, every 4 hours and stop it going purple? As a last ditch resort I was considering storing the status messages (retrieved every 4 hours ideally via the shell script) in different files (per host) on the Xymon server and repeatedly sending this message every 10 minutes (hence preventing purple statuses). Although this would work, it doesnt seem a particularly clean method. Thanks for your time, Phil

Disk growth in MB during graphs timespan, anybody done it?

>Interested in showing delta/growth of filesystems, in MB, not % as is default. Someone must have done this by now... ok if it's just in the legend and not a line in graph. This way on my monthly reports >you get both visual as shown currently, but for the time span shown, the delta in MB is shown. It is built into xymon, just not shown by default. When you click on your disk graph your url will contain "service=disk" as part of it. Change it to say "service=disk1" If you want to change the units displayed eg. MB - not KB, you will need to edit hobbitgraph.cfg, CDEF for the disk1 definition. Craig

client data processed only every 5 minutes

Hi Guru's, I am monitoring windows server using bbwin. I can see the client data coming in every minute but hobbit server processes it only every 5 minutes ? is there a setting in hobbit server to change ? ************************************ Best Regards Kumaresh

"Pages Hosted Locally"

Is there an easy way to change the phrases at the top of the main screens "Pages Hosted Locally" and "Subpages Hosted Locally" I would like to add the word "TEST" or "PROD" to the beginning to show they are on the Testing or Production system. Problem with Hobbit URL

Hello, I´ve installed Hobbit on Debian Linux Kernel 2.2.26 with Apache2 web server like described under http://hobbitmon.sourceforge.net/docs/install.html. Now I have a problem with the last step: http://your.server/hobbit/ Here I will not get the Hobbit start page. What I see is: Does anyone have an idea what´s wrong with my installation/configuration? hobbitd_channel uses 99% cpu

Hi, I'm running xymon-4.3.0-beta1 on a CentOS 5.3 system. For quite a while xymon has been running smoothly. However, lately hobbitd_channel has been using 99% of the cpu. Sometimes there are two hobbitd_channels running, each using 49% of the cpu. Is there an ipc channel or shared memory that is somehow stuck or corrupted? ipcs shows nothing when xymon is stopped, and shows 9 memory segments an 9 semaphore arrays when xymon is running. What is going on? Did I mis-configure something? Is there a way to watch it or debug the problem? Thanks, Wendell

How can I get bbcmd to work?
