Hi All, Do anyone know if there is a way to do autodiscovery of Windows host and monitoring dependencies of individual windows services? Example: I want to monitor host1/service1 that denpends on the servcice2 of host2? Can anyone help? Many thanks... With kind regards. DNS

I am getting the following error and would appreciate any help to get this resolve! DURATION= question?

Can you use the DURATION= command to create a boundary? Are the KEYWORDS capitalized? Or is it just for reading? HOST=xxx SERVICE=conn RECOVERED DURATION>10m DURATION<2h This way the alerts would start after the 2nd run of Xymon and stop after 2 hours. Thanks, Tom Schmitt Senior IT Staff - R&D

I'm using CentOS 5.3 64bit with xymon-4.3.0-beta2 It seems that when on bb-hosts there is config where there are short similar names, the first connection test fail. This means that the ping of aa trought ip 1.2.3.4 fail for to reproduce the problem put on bb-hosts 1.2.3.4 aa # 1.2.3.5 aa1 # 1.2.3.6 aa2 # after a while the check conn of aa go to red on the server shell you are able to run ping,fping,hobbitping trought aa and it works. checking websites and DNS registration with xymon

I know I posted this in a previous email, but I still did not get any answer. I am trying to monitor websites that we have. Most of DNS domains points to the same web site. 1. How can I check the status of the domain registration? There is a dnsreg in the xymon demo pages, but I did not find any information regarding this feature or how to set it up 2. How can I monitor the IP address that a domain has. In the demo pages there is a check for IP, which probably would do what I want 3. Currently I am just checkin by using "0.0.0.0 www.domainname.com # noconn http://www.domainname.com" which works, but once an hour a couple of checks go red at the same time, and this is most likely due to slow response from the server. Basically I want to avoid DoSing the web server with my tests. Suggestions? David

Critical View / default Color

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to change the default color on the critical view. By default, it’s Red+Yellow. Manually, you can set Red+Yellow+Purple. I would like to change the default by Red+Yellow+Purple. Thanks. Regards, Nico
