Hi, i have upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.1.2p1 and now i have this error... I don't find any core files, nothing special in debug file.. Alerts are send normaly... Don't undertand why i still get this test red and now purple ... Rgds, -- Etienne Roulland --- CVF Bordeaux

Ok thanks, ill have to see if I can get this set up on the dhcp servers on each subnet we have. They arnt really under my control so ill have to check with those involved. Shame as the server can resolve them through WINS now :-(. The dynamic dns does it, but only to the dhcp server's dns, if it runs. Perhaps can you add a subdomain for dhcp clients, and add this subdomain to your domain searchlist on the hobbit server. (or add the dhcp server's to your dns server's list on the hobbit server). As long as nslookup fails, bbtest-net will also fail. Nslookup fails as these hosts are not on dns, they will only resolve through wins. The dns server is running on solaris while the dhcp servers are windows based. Im not sure how easy (if possible) it would be to configure the dhcp server to add clients to the dns. Can bbproxy listen on several (but not all) interfaces ?

Hi Henrik I'm trying to setup a bbproxy on a host with 4 IP addresses, and I'd like it to listen on only two of them. I've tried "--listen=LOCALIP1,LOCALIP2" and "--listen=LOCALIP1 --listen=LOCALIP2", but none worked. Is it possible ? If not, I'll add iptables rules... Variable for HTTP test

Hello Everyone, I am using the Hobbit as an HTTP service monitor and when the service is in trouble, SCRIPT setting in my HOBBIT-ALERTS.CFG sends an alert message properly. But I am wondering if there are any environment variables for URL which can be used in a script as well as BBALPHAMSG, ACKCODE, RCPT, and so on. For example, my bb-hosts file contains the following entries. 0.0.0.0 aaa.hoge.com # http://aaa.hoge.com/cgi-bin/php/aaauser/home.php 0.0.0.0 bbb.hoge.com # https://bbb.hoge.com/cgi-bin/php/bbbuser/home.php and I would like to include URL(http://aaa.hoge.com/cgi-bin/php/aaauser/home.php) in each alert message sent by my script.

I can add more to the mystery of the vanishing messages file... Yes, the file is still there, it has always been there, and does have data. However, Hobbit, or the bbclient, thinks it is gone. Hobbit does have permission to get to and read this file (verified by su'ing to the hobbit UID, and then more'ing the file). There are normal message file entries in the log. It just thinks that it vanished, out of the blue... We did notice some weirdness in that the server appears to be configured for clustering, however, it is not and has never been part of a cluster. And, the day that the file vanished, one of our system programmers logged in and ran a self made C program that we are not familiar with. We'll continue to dig into it, but if anyone has any ideas beyond those mentioned by Nicolas, we'd be greatful. We have not loaded a new client on this server, still running the older bbclient but it's worked fine up till now. sometimes the /var/adm/messages is rotated with the newsyslog (/usr/lib) Any ideas? check the newsyslog script to see if a new file is generated when the old one is rotated. otherwise, you can simply add a line like this one : date >> /var/adm/messages after the log rotate. Problems Getting Graphs to appear

CURRENT: I have written a custom script that is a COMBO TEST that works out if any of the tablespaces are close to full and submits either the Green/red or Yellow status messages along with a comment containing a multi column text report containing each tablespace name and a variety of data on it including total_size, amount used and percentage used. This has been working well for quite a while now on 2 servers with a column name of "otsp". Recently I wanted to Graph the total sizes of the tablespaces to see trends in either there growth or fluctuation. I wrote a script to capture the data and put it into .rrd files, this was then added to the [larrdstatus] and [larrddata] sections of the hobbitlaunch.cfg file. using CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=status --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/larrd-status.log ho bbitd_larrd --rrddir=$BBVAR/rrd --extra-script=/usr/local/hobbit/server/ext/grap h_otsp.sh --extra-tests=otsp CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=data --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/larrd-data.log hobb itd_larrd --rrddir=$BBVAR/rrd --extra-script=/usr/local/hobbit/server/ext/grap h_otsp.sh --extra-tests=otsp This seems to be working fine and I can see that under ~/data/rrd/hostname directories for the 2 hosts in question I can see .rrd files that reflect the naming convention i have used "otsp.*.rrd" I queried one of the .rrd files using : rrdtool fetch $your.rrd AVERAGE This returned the sort of results that I would expect for the data stored (this was installed when we were using BB originally before switching to Hobbit). So far all seemed good.
