Default Host Entries

Ok.. I've seen a couple of differing definitions of the "default" host entry. And I have a couple of questions. 1) Which is the proper entry for a default host entry? .default. # Tags/tests 0.0.0.0 .default. # Tags/tests 2) Do the default entries merge with what's listed in a specific host? IE if say my default includes a test for the FTP server and I don't want a specific host to test FTP so I put !ftp. Who wins? 3) If I have multiple files that get included into my bb-hosts file and I setup default entries in each, do the default entries get scope? IE if I setup a default in file A, and then include file B does the default entry in file A only apply to file A? And what if I setup a default entry in bb-hosts. Mandriva packages

I have packaged Hobbit for Mandriva, it is currently available in cooker contrib, and the 2006.0 development tree (ie devel/2006.0 on mirrors). Users can install it with 'urpmi hobbit-client' or 'urpmi hobbit'. I started with the distributed spec file, but had to make a number of changes to make it comply with packaging policies. Packaging files are available in CVS, eg http://cvs.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/contrib-SPECS/hobbit/ It might be worthwhile removing the trailing slash in the alias definition in the distributed apache config files (http://cvs.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/contrib-SPECS/hobbit/hobbit-4.1.…) The SRPM also builds on RHEL4, when using compatibility macros (see http://qa.mandriva.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/BackPorting) we are using the resulting packages in production. Solaris 10 question

Multiple Downtime days

Hello All, How do I put multiple days in a downtime tag in the bb-hosts file? I've put DOWNTIME=0:2300:2359,1:2300:2359,2:2300:2359... This has no effect... TIA, Al

NOTICEs are not sent when enable or disable "all"

I just built a new hobbit server with 4.1.2p1 and I am still seeing the behavior of, if you enable or disable "all" services for a host, it does not trigger the NOTICE rule and thus no email is sent out. Yes, I did rebuild hobbit after the upgrade (I took the same opportunity to upgrade hobbit to the newest snapshot)... FWIW, I got BB up and running on AIX 4.3.1 on an old 43p; the biggest problem was getting perl to compile. Ran just fine, but about the time I went to AIX 5.1 it started to run out of gas. That's when I went to BBGEN. And then an old Dell 4300 came my way, and I installed SuSE on it. And then I moved to hobbit, and the 43p was completely replaced for all other finctions by a Dell 2300 (also old) running SuSE 9.0. I figure on upgrading both systems to SLES 9 next month. Greetings, Recently I did a massive system upgrade, and now whenever I try to start my hobbit server I get the following error in the hobbitd.log file 2005-12-19 10:00:00 Setup complete 2005-12-19 10:00:00 Fatal error in select: Bad file descriptor And it just keeps repeating. Does anyone know what might have broke hobbit or what I have to do to fix the error? Thanks, Adam
