[hobbit] Tru64 Client Install

Tom, We have successfully installed the client on Tru64 4.0d, 5.1b, and another version that I am not sure of. We didn't do anything abnormal from our AIX or Linux servers on the compile of the bbclient. What errors are you seeing? [hobbit] HOBBIT 4.0.3 build issue on hp 11.0

Okay, things have been a tad busy for the last few weeks, but I finally managed to find time to investigate this a little more. Compiler version B.11.11.04, fully patched, fails. Compiler version B.11.11.12, fully patched with patch PHSS_32509, ... still fails/ If you really want to compile this with the HP compiler, try this horrible sequence... 1. Attempt to compile normally. The compiler will fail on lib/environ.o 2. Delete lib/environ.o 3. Edit build/Makefile.HP-UX and delete the "-O" from the CFLAGS line. 4. Run make again. You may abort this run as soon as environ.c has compiled. 5. Make a secure copy of lib/environ.o 6. Run "make clean" 7. Put the copy of lib/environ.o back 8. Edit build/Makefile.HP-UX and add the "-O" back into the CFLAGS line 9. Run make. Alternatively you could compile everything without optimisation. Whether the resultant binaries will run I haven't had time to check. Kevin.

[hobbit] Unexpected service response

Ok, this may have been a stupid question, I don't know. But after further investigations, I see that this happens quite a bit on the other SMTP servers as well, they just report it occasionally and not long enough for me to be notified. There is only one host that constantly reports this. Is there something I should change in the way the test works to avoid getting the "Unexpected service response" message? Problem with disable/enable and non-standard TTL

I have a nightly backup process that starts at 19:00 and runs about 3 hours. I need to know if it failed to start on time, ran too long, or just plain failed. I currently invoke a BB script at the start of the backup to set a value of 'clear' with a 3 hour 15 minute TTL. When the backup finishes I run another BB script that sets the proper color (green, yellow, or red) with an expiration time that calculates to 19:05 the next night. And I alert on red or purple. The problem I run into with enable/disable is that setting ALL to disabled and then re-enabling later looses the custom expiration time -- and 30 minutes after enabling the test, we start paging because the backup hasn't run/finished.
