Hobbitclient compilation on AIX

Hi, I tried to compile the hobbitclient 0.3 on aix 5.2 using gcc and gnu make. Here is the result : user at aix:/test_san_1/hobbitclient-0.3> /usr/local/bin/make /usr/local/bin/gcc -g -O2 -DSYSCONFDIR="\"/usr/hobbit/client/etc\"" -c -o hobbitc.o hobbitc.c hobbitc.c:52:17: err.h: No such file or directory hobbitc.c:71:23: sys/fcntl.h: No such file or directory hobbitc.c: In function `main': hobbitc.c:129: error: `O_RDONLY' undeclared (first use in this function) hobbitc.c:129: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once hobbitc.c:129: error: for each function it appears in.) make: *** [hobbitc.o] Error 1 There is no err.h (except the one from openssl, but I don't think this one will fit). And the fcntl.h is in the /usr/include on aix, not /usr/include/sys. I still use the bb client, but I'm surprised as the hobbitd was compiled without problem. N F

[hobbit] NT Client trend graphs

Hi Didier, My previous BB install was building the memory graphs from the CPU stats returned from the BB client and this was not working with Hobbit. I installed the bb-memory script from deadcat and set the saved logs location on the client and it started working straight away. Do you already have bb-memory script from Deadcat installed on each to pass the memory and netstat data? I'm guessing you had the graphs under BB since you are asking where they have gone :-) Are you missing the whole "memory" column, or is it just the graph that is broken? Is it the same for "citrix"? If you have the columns but broken/missing graphs try deleting any existing rrd files for these tests on the hobbit server. I have both of these working OK, so feel free to drop me a note. I would like to try the combotest but am not sure what needs to be done besides defining a combotest in combotest.cfg. I have looked through the docs but cant find a complete example. Once there is a test named 'Pool1.http' defined in combotest.cfg, what needs to be present in bb-hosts and hobbit-alerts.cfg to receive an email? Many thanks for the help. Netscape 4.7 and Hobbit Monitor 4.0.4

When using Netscape 4.7x or 4.8 pages are not rendering correctly; no menu bar at top, pages with graphs have all the magifier glass group at top and sometimes graphs are missing. If there is a browser prerequiste , what is it? And where is it stated. This makes postfix unhappy. A few questions about larrd and alerts

Hi Henrik I would like to graph only a few specific colums (namely those related to Hobbit), so I have this in etc/hobbitserver.cfg : LARRDS="bbgen,bbtest,bbproxy,hobbitd" GRAPHS="bbgen,bbtest,bbproxy,hobbitd" But the "trends" column shows on every host. Is there a way to disable it ? Another thing, I think I got some alerts which shouldn't be there. Increase DURATION for all alerts

I know this has been hashed before, but I can't seem to find the answer. How can I prevent hobbit from sending alerts unless the test has been down for 15 minutes (or some time) without using the DURATION tag? I seem to be putting DURATION>15 in all alert rules, so I am looking to set it globally. Regards, -- Christopher T.
