Adding findhost to main page

Hi all Just wondering (even though I'm sure it can be done) if you can add the findhost search box onto to top of the main page maybe under where it says current status or there abouts We have started dividing some hosts up into pages and subpages and it seems some people are not quite bright enough (even when told) that the search is under the admin drop down. Even if you do know where it is it would be easier IMO to just be able to search without additonal clicks. Cheers folks Allan

eventlog patch

Hi Henrik et al., I was fiddling around a little bit with the event log reporting code; I added the ability to search through a specific time interval, and also the ability to apply a regular expression against the host, test and/or status color. You can fetch it from http://www.nerdvana.org/eric/files/eventlog-patch Apply it from the base hobbit src direction: patch -p0 < eventlog-patch It could probably use a little refinement. Right now if a user wants to specify a start/end date, they have to use a very strict format: ccyy/mm/dd at hh:mm:ss I considering doing dropdowns in the event_form webfile, but that would either have to have years in the future (2006,2007, etc) or would have to be updated every year. Same host on multiple pages

Hi all Have been using BB and now Hobbit for quite some time now and have finally decided to start looking at breaking up some of our hosts into multiple pages and sub pages etc. I've had a look through the man pages etc on how you go about defining hosts in multiple pages. From what I can see you just define it where you want and put a prefer tag against one of them (of course I may be wrong but thats what I figured) It works fine they both appear on both pages, but the bbtest goes yellow and says host xyz is defined multiple times this may cause strange results. Also not sure what happens when an alert occours. Can someone let me know if this would be the right way of doing it as we have a few hosts that have multiple functions so we want to make sure theyre easy to find in a few categories Cheers Allan

Hi Allan When you have host more than one time in bb-hosts add noconn to the second entry. Because its make no sense do to the network tests twice. The Problem that i have is: when a host have 2 entrys in the same pageset then i see the host twice in the webview of the pageset.. have you this also ? Problems supressing yellow alerts

Howdy all, I wanted to see if anybody else had any experience /w this before I go poking at code. I've got a test (called 'if_load') that I want to suppress yellow alerts for. Now I've tried three methods for doing this: . using the 'NOPROPYELLOW:if_load' explicity for each host. . using 'NOPROPYELLOW:if_load' in conjunction with a .default. host statement . using --nopropyellow=if_load in the bbgen cmd line in hobbitlaunch.cfg In the first two cases, I get a "Suppressed warnings (yellow): if_load" in the 'info' screen of all defined hosts. When using --nopropyellow method, I dont even get a msg in the info screen (even after restarting hobbit). Regardless of which method I use, yellow alerts for if_load still trickle upwards to the bb2 screen. Anybody seen anything like that? Regards, -Eric

Oops. Looks like I already found a bug (users with a .default. host defined will notice a one-off problem whenever they try to modify anything).
