Hello, I'm having problems compiling hobbit 4.1.0. It's the same machine I've compiled hobbit 4.0.4 without problems before. I'm using RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0. All I can say is: Damm, that was quick! 3 three hours from report to fix! I can also confirm that Mandrake 10.0 also suffers from this problem and that the patch has fixed it. graphs with external script

Hi, i'm trying to get graphes from mysql-status BB side client. I followed the man page and a post from Henrik. Now i have mysql.rrd which is updated but i cannot get graphs. I use Hobbit 4.1.0. Release candidate of Hobbit 4.0.5 ready

After finally nailing a very nasty bug earlier this week, I've prepared the first release-candidate of Hobbit 4.0.5 - you'll find it at http://www.hswn.dk/beta/hobbit-4.0.5RC1.tar.gz I expect it to remain in the RC-state for about a week, and then a release is planned for the last week of July. This fixes a number of bugs, some rather serious in that they could cause the Hobbit daemon to crash and thereby disable all of your monitoring. This in itself should make everyone consider upgrading. A number of performance tweaks have been added, so for large installations (including mine), Hobbit and especially hobbitd_alert now uses significantly less CPU time than before. Finally, Craig Cook - maintainer of the LARRD package - politely requested that Hobbit did not refer to LARRD since there are differences between what Hobbit and LARRD does. (And Hobbit doesn't use any LARRD code). So to avoid confusion, I've cleaned up all references to LARRD in Hobbit. This means that some stuff had to be renamed: The hobbitd_larrd program is now hobbitd_rrd, the "LARRD:" tag in bb-hosts is now "TRENDS:", and the LARRDCOLUMN and GRAPHS settings in hobbitserver.cfg changed to TRENDSCOLUMN and TEST2RRD respectively. These changes will all either happen automatically when you install the new version, or - in the case of the LARRD: tag - the old name will still be recognized. Eventlog in BB2

Hi, Is there a way to reduce or set a number of eventlogs displayed at bb2.html page ? I know that have an option to disable eventlog (--no-eventlog)... but I want to reduce from 240 to 20 or 50 ... Thanks! Antonio Marques

Hi henrik, In the man, i read : "The "ncv" module will automatically detect all occurrences of a "NAME : value" or "NAME = value" string in a status message, and generate an RRD file holding all of the name/value data found in the message. The colon- or equal-sign must be present - if there is only whitespace, this module will fail." What's happening for me : my mysql status returns everything on the same line : "Uptime: 27244454 Threads: 1 Questions: 111315527 Slow queries: 322 Opens: 335380 Flush tables: 1 Open tables: 63 Queries per second avg: 4.086" adding NCV_mysql="Uptime:GAUGE" returns 4.086 instead of 27244454 did i do something wrong or is this status incompatible with ncv ? First thing you need to do is check your web server error logs, this kind thing is usually caused by a problem in your web server setup or file systems permissions. I imagine you use expect and a script on the client itself, and just telnet to localhost. We have some apps like that also, and that was our solution. I know it would be nice to do it from the server, but it still achieves the goal.
