MSG column and HPUX 11.11

I have a mixture of hpux 11.11 and 11.23 servers. The MSG column shows up fine and is scanning the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file on HPUX 11.23 but not on HPUX 11.11 where it shows up as white. Is there anything I can do to have it scan the syslog.log file on HPUX 11.11 as well?

Devmon Turning Purple

Hello, I would first like to say thanks to all those out there helping me trouble shoot the issue of Devmon turning purple. I am going to try and either upgrade or downgrade devmon on our system to hopefully fix the problem. We are currently running] Devmon version 0.3.0-beta2 Does anyone recommend a stable version to use with Hobbit-4.2.0 ? Thanks, michael

Josh, I am using Hobbit 4.2.0 and devmon 0.3.0-beta2 >From reading everyone else¹s post, looks like we are going to have to run a cronjob that restarts devmon every night. If you have any other ideas, that would be great. Is it possible to schedule a windows reboot command through hobbit? See below C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe/r/f I need to run this command on a few servers every night and send emails to operations, "email" which I finally got working :-) Any information would be appreciated. Thanks! Becki

Alert function wont work!

I would like to set up a hobbit alert,so I wrote in the hobbit-alerts.cfg: HOST=WS004:81 MAIL im.number.nine at gmail.com SERVICE=http MAIL my_2nd_email at host.nl SERVICE=http I know the http is down from that host so i gave it a shot, i saved and rebooted but it doesn't seem to work. Compiling latest snapshot / rpath eror on Solaris 10

Hi, compiling the latest hobbit snapshot on Solaris 10 (sparc) failed with rpath errors: $ ./configure --client $ make [...] /usr/ccs/bin/ld: illegal option -- rpath [...] To fix the problem, I had to change the RPATH option in build/Makefile.SunOS: old: RPATH=-Wl,--rpath, new: RPATH=-Wl,-R, Hope this helps other solaris users :-) Regards, Alexander

Snapshot Compile Error

graph positive and negative values

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has been successful setting up and graphing an item that fluctuates between positive and negative values? I'm trying to trend the temperature of my freezer. When I created the rrd earlier today (when positive values were generated) the graph was functional. When I put my sensors inside the freezer (where the temperatures drop a few degrees below zero F) the values wouldn't drop below zero on the graph. I tried modifying the current rrd tool with: rrdtool tune /home/hobbit/data/rrd/tice/freezer.rrd --minimum freezerf:U (which did drop the minimum to nan) but I still couldn't get negatives to show on the graph. I thought I'd delete the rrd and start over - but I think now that the values are negative numbers the rrd won't even create.
