Henrik, Is there a way to force the hobbitd_rrd module to dump its cache and update the rrd files more frequently? Some of my rrd files are nearly an hour behind real time which causes problems when looking at the graphs. Its look very specific on hostnames; with some hostnames it works with other not (unfortunately we use hostname that cause the problem..). Xymon 4.3.0: Beta Problems

Another problem found with the 4.3.0 Beta version on AIX is that vmstat has dropped the cpu wait value and does not store the value in the rrd. This worked fine under the 4.3.0-0.20080402 version. Also I cannot find any documentation on how the "Compact" status feature is supposed to work! No oracle graphs in hobbit_perl_client 1.15

I have installed Xymon 4.2.2 on a Solaris 10 x86 server which works fine. Later I downloaded and installed hobbit_perl_client 1.15, installed the perl modules, oracle client, did all the changes to hobbitgraphs.cfg (although this file already had the changes) and hobbitserver.cfg as instructed in the readme's. I now see headings (ChkConn, info, trends, unumber, uptime) for the databases but cannot get any graphs to work. I did not apply the hobbit_perl_client.patch as I believe Xymon 4.2.2 has the patch included and anyway when I checked the patch script it referred to 4.2.0. I have checked and checked the configuration and instructions, put debugging on in dbcheck.pl (no errors), searched the hobbit archives but still have to answer or clue as to why I cannot get any graphs!? xymon 4.2.2 multiple dns tests failing since upgrade from 4.2.0

I upgraded to xymon 4.2.2 yesterday from hobbit 4.2.0, mainly so I can start playing with bbwin client monitoring. I built RPMs from the tarball after customizing the spec file. I'm also working on a MacOSX universal binary install package for the client because I've had enough of manually stuffing around doing it from scratch. I've never played with PackageMaker before, but it can't be that bad... All is well except the dns monitoring is now red. I use a pretty standard dns test for all my DNS servers, internal or external. It is intended to check both our DNS zone and that every DNS server can resolve external names. It's been working fine since bbgen days and hobbit 4.2.0. The test is: dns=a:ausport.gov.au,a:cnn.com Now I'm getting failure of external lookup on all dns tests with following appearing in each dns page: Service dns on XXXX.ausport.gov.au is not OK : Service unavailable *** DNS lookup of 'a:ausport.gov.au' *** id: 36373 flags: qr aa rd ra opcode: QUERY rcode: NOERROR Questions: ausport.gov.au . Client installation issue

Hi All I have followed the step as outlined in the README.CLIENT file of the tarball for xymon-4.2.2. I logged in as root. Created a user called xymon. Un-tarred the files went into the new source directory and then did a ./configure client, Then a make then a make install. No errors. I then su to the xymon uid I created and run ./runclient.sh start. I get the error cannot write to xymon/client/logs directory. When I try find this directory it is nowhere to be seen. Am I missing something? Regards Neil

Hi All If I want to install the client side of xymon on a server I untar the package then I must run a configure command. For the life of me I can remember I suspect it is configure client. Am I right? Regards Neil x
