Hi My xymon server has a strange behaviour. I a host called tata running SSLed services. The tests are all OK. But when I go to sslcert test page, I see the information from another host (called toto). Their SSL certificates are differents, and all my other hosts have their own SSL informations. The host toto is the xymon server itself, running xymon-4.3.0-beta3 client and server. The host 'tata' is running xymon 4.2.2. Thank for any help. Regards, Damien Martins

Hobbit core dump every 5 minutes

Hi Guys, today my hobbit server started throwing up purple alerts for all my network (conn) and various other tcp connection tests. I noticed that a core file was being created every 5 minutes. Help with label names in bb-hosts

Hi When I increased the label name for each server in bb-hosts, the number of metrics parameters reported suddenly dropped. I used to get "conn", "cpu", "disk", "http", "info", "ldap", "memory", "netstat", "procs", "sslcert", "svcs", "trends", "uptime", "who". But after I increase the label name size, I only got back a subset. It looks like it is not able to fit in the page all the parameters. Is there a way to get around this issue, such as decrease the font size of the label? Thanks -- Sridhar

Hobbitd and bbproxy at the same host

Hi All, Is there someone on the list that could share with me a working configuration of hobbitlaunch.cfg and hobbitserver.cfg for running hobbitd and bbproxy at the same host on different ports? I´ve tried some configurations already described on the list but without success. Thanks in advance, Mario.

Scheduled disable causes crash?

This patch is against the current beta-3 code, but it applies to version 4.2.3 as well if you run patch and explicitly tell it which file to patch: patch hobbit-4.2.3/hobbitd/hobbitd.c < task.patch I am not sure if this fixes the problem, though. Because if this is what causes the crash, then it ought to happen before the log message that the task ran is written. Execute a script on the client side

Hi I use Xymon to monitor multiple server. Since last week, one of my server get a suspicious behavior : the openvpn process was still up, but the default route changed, making it appears on the web with its original IP address (and not the openvpn gateway). I decide to use xymon to detect this, but, I'm kind of stuck to execute the script on the client side I follow this "howto" : http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/System_Monitoring_with_Xymon/Other_Docs/HOWTO#… But, finally, the script give my the public address of the SERVER side. So, am I doing something wrong with the server side module ? Is there an option to push the test on the client side ? Or, must I put the script on the client side (~hobbit/client/ext/), like describe here : http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/System_Monitoring_with_Xymon/Other_Docs/HOWTO#… ? Xymon 4.3.0-beta3 on iPad - tester needed

Hi, I've had one report that the new Xymon menu (the one using CSS) does not work on an iPad. The same user reported that it *does* work in Apple's Safari browser. So I'm curious if one of you have an ipad and could verify this for me ? The http://www.xymon.com/ website uses the new CSS menu, so just point your iPad browser there and let me know if the menus are working or not. On a slightly related note, has anyone had problems installing Safari for Windows ? My installation hangs half-way through the installation while registering DLL's - so much that only a reboot can clean it up. Regards, Henrik

missing disk detection

Is there any way to set up xymon so that it will detect a missing disk? I had a SAN disk on a Windows box go missing for an hour or so last night and it wasn't detected. Thanks, Larry Barber
