CPU Load vs Utilization

Recently a concern was raised by my Xymon user. On Xymon Unix machine's (R3) CPU column is showing CPU load number (0 to 20+). On Windows machine(R2) using bbwin CPU column is showing CPU Utilization number in percentage(0%-100%). Shouldn't we distinguish Unix CPU and Windows CPU columns ? Since they are using two different metric. Prezados, Nao consigo configurar a columa mempry para funcionar com os servidores. Apenas o server do Xymon, ativou a coluna memory. os demais servidores, esta coluna não apreseta nada. Alguma dica? Obrigado *Rubenir Coelho Tavares Junior *

Xymon mailing list change

Hi! Since it began, the Hobbit and Xymon mailing lists have been handled using a combination of "qmail" and "ezmlm-idx" software. However, both of these are getting rather old - and especially qmail has been giving me some headaches when it comes to handling spam. It also is not included as a standard package in Debian (or any other Linux distribution, as far as I know), so packaging it up and getting it integrated with other Debian software has been a bit of a challenge. So I have decided to move all of the mail handling ove to Postfix and Mailman - both of which are modern, well-maintained and flexible solutions for e-mail and mailing lists. The setup is working now on a new server I've been building, so I expect the actual move to happen sometime next week. As users of the xymon at xymon.com mailing list you should not see any real changes - all of the current subscribers will be moved over to the new setup. So I expect the list to keep operating as usual. The only thing you'll notice is that you will receive a mail with a password for the mailing-list web interface - you'll need this if you want to unsubscribe, or if you want to switch to/from a digest mailing. I just want this done before shipping 4.3.0, so I can put some up-to-date instructions on how to subscribe to the list into the docs. Regards, Henrik

Proxy server not proxying everywhere.

I have a proxy server that is also a regular server on port 1985, it's my backup/secondary server. But the proxy only seems to send the data to the primary server. The web on the proxy has most everything in purple mode. And my test server (4.3.0rc1) doesn't have any of the significant data. Andriod Xymon Monitor

Has anyone had any success on Android 2.2 getting this http://www.dot-knowledge.de/Home/android/xymon-monitor to work? On first run, I got the config screen. However, after entering the URL of my Xymon webserver, it crashed. It now instantly crashes on startup. Too bad; I was pleasantly surprised to see a mobile Xymon widget right there on the marketplace! I don’t know much about how the market or apps contained therein work, but I’m guessing the chances of hacking at this myself to get it to work are slim to none, right? Making a custom graph

I want to graph just the number of sessions for each interval. So I add "sshConns=ncv" to TEST2RRD And add the line NCV_sshConns="Sessions:GAUGE" To the end of hobbitserver.cfg. Oh, Xymon 4.2.3 currently. I have a test server on 4.3.0rc1, but it's not getting this data. Then I killed hobbitd_rrd (both).
