I am doing some testing with the new RC1 release and I am having trouble with the xymon web page. It does come up, but it seems to be adding a /xymon/ in front of the directories so the web is not picking up the stylesheets. TS - ICON Scripting question

I notice that when you have the Xymon icon on the tray or at the top as a selection that the Icon will change to RED, YELLOW, GREEN, etc. depending upon the status of the Xymon system running. How is this accomplished? I am writing a mini dashboard to show what's up. This I keep in the upper corner of the screen rather than the Xymon menu. It is very customized for our environment and I wanted to be able to have the ICON in tray change colors. It has 1 think to do in hobbit-alerts.cfg, watch the primary. If the secondary looses contact with the primary it will run a script. That script is to copy in the primaries hobbit-alerts.cfg file in place. It is put on the secondary automatically with rdist. Also, in the primaries hobbit-alerts.cfg file, there is a watch that looks for a recovery, at which time, another script is run to reverse the process. TS - Can you update the Reason while DISABLED?

Is it possible to update the 'Reason:' information of a device while it is currently disabled? Hi, We have one xymon in our Head Office, and other one in branch office. In my Head office, we want to have 2 xymon to replicate result, if one failed, the other take place. An employe have start something, but he left month ago. I see I the hobbit he did, this line in bb-hosts : summary Hobbit-PRD.All 172.30.1.1 http://hobbit/hobbit group servers 127.0.0.1 Hobbit-PRD # bbd http://Hobbit-PRD/ So the big question is, it is possible to do this ? 4.3.0 RC1 - rrddefinitions.cfg suggestion

Henrik, Would it be possible to add support for other rrdtool create options in the rrddefinitions.cfg file? I'd like to be able to specify a different step for certain tests. Like [http] --step 60 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:1440 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:5:576 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:30:576 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:120:576 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1440:576 This would let me zoom in on the graph down to the minute which helps in quickly identifying when problems start and you have to dig through mountains of logs for the precise moment, also I've found when using drraw to create aggregated graphs for dashboards it gives it more of an up to the minute view of your systems rather then a 5 minute lag time. I use to do this by creating the rrds manually on the 4.2.x code base, but it would be great if I could just specify it in the rrddefinitions.cfg. The rrd step is just one of those items you can't tune after its been created without dumping to xml first, creating a new rrd container, then importing the data back. -- Brian Majeska

Hi, We looked in the code but could not find the answer... What is the minimum time for the same alert status to stay up to be processed correctly by Xymon ? For example in following transitions, what would the minimum time (in sec.) for the yellow statuses (same check) to be processed correctly by Xymon ? long t. short t. long t. short t. long t. long t. green -> yellow -> clear -> yellow -> clear -> green alert alert recovered Thanks for advices.
