test ssh on private ip

[Running 4.2.3 on solaris with a lot of linux clients] We have a heavily (some would say 'insanely') firewalled environment. For some clients, I need to be able to test ssh on the private ip address, but even though I have the private ip in the bb-hosts file and have specified testip, the ssh test insists on testing the public address (which it is getting from DNS, apparently) and fails because the firewall doesn't allow ssh connections on that interface. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Steve

https and sslcert column

Hi, I try to monitor https://10.x.x.x/index.html, but I get an error that xymon can see it. On my old hobbit, it's work #1 and I see column sslcert as well with the certificate. What I need to install to get this done ? I running xymon 4.3RC1. thx David Raymond

BIND, sendmail, mailq graphs

Hi. I was looking through the graphs.cfg, and noticed there were definitions for some useful graphs, especially BIND, sendmail and mailq. How do I use these graphs? Do I need to setup something on the client to transmit the data? There were no comments in graphs.cfg and I cannot find anything in the Xymon man-pages. /Johan

Monitoring multiple Linux Processes

Hello, I'm trying to monitor multiple processes on Linux servers. I would like to use Page/subpage like described in the Hobbit-clients.cfg file, but it will only show one processes on the page for each server. Here is a what I have in the file. PAGE=infrastructure/noc PROC batchman PROC jobman PROC netman Infrastructure is the page Noc is the subpage. XYMON only finds the first PROC. Bug tracker; triage?

Hi All, There are a number of bugs in the Sourceforge bug tracker, is anybody looking at them? Does anyone triage bugs? There are also a lot of bugs mentioned on this mailing list, or a long time ago, which aren't in sourceforge. Are we going to use SF for this purpose? I'd really like to contribute something to Xymon - I think it's really good - and want to understand how it's managed. Regards Mark

Lost history after rename of test column

Running Hobbit 4.2.0. After rename of some custom tests and deleting the old name, discovered that trying to view History tells me "cannot open history file". It appears there is no history file for the newly named tests, that I can find. Neither is there one for the old named tests, which is probably due to my having deleted the test column. I know there was history for the old named test. Have I missed a step? Do I need to run rrdtool, create, or something?

Monitoring a webpage that requires auth

I have a Cisco web application that shows me the status of my environment. However, in order to access the status page, I first need to authenticate. I realize xymon has auth capabilities built into the http content test. But that doesn't seem to work in my environment. Once I log into the front page, I need to navigate to a second page..which is where my status is displayed. Is there any way to grab http content tests from that second page? Thanks
