Use of underscores

I am learning (very slowly) that using underscores (_) in column names can be a very bad thing. This really comes to light when I try to graph the data from one of those pages... If the data requires an NCV_* entry in xymonserver.cfg, I never get any data in the server's rrd data folder. Is there a quick way to get around that (I am apparently really fond of using underscores in names)? -dan

TS - 'route:' statement for DUAL homed devices

I am using the 'route:' statement for dependencies currently. In my environment, I have dual everything to the wiring closet, or dual homed servers. Is there a way to have a device watch for BOTH paths back? In other words, if both connections fail then the SERVER will turn YELLOW and show the unreachable cause. 3 Examples: I can watch for a failure of "wiring-closet-switch" but cannot go any farther back CISCO-6500A à 1 gig fiber connectionà wiring-closet-switch à SERVER CISCO-6500B à 1 gig fiber connection ---^ CISCO-6500A à top-of-rack-switch à SERVER CISCO-6500B ----^ CISCO-6500A à SERVER CISCO-6500B ----^ Would this work? hobbitd question

My hobbitd stays in yellow state but i am unsure why. I have checked the log files and found nothing out of the ordinary is there anyway. I simulate running the test that reports back for the hobbitd test in debug mode and see what is causing it. Thanks

Feature request, CPU utilization graph

Hi. The CPU utilization graphs on the trends page is missing info. The utilization "types" do not add upp to 100% all the time. I suspect that IO wait and maybe some other types are missing from the graphs. You can see what I mean if you check the attached graph. It would be nice to get the remaining info into the graph as well. /Johan

In the 4.2.x versions, there is no flap detection at all. 4.3.0 RC1 detects flapping. By default, a status is considered "flapping" if there are more than 5 status changes over a 30-minute period (this can be changed, but it is a global setting - not per-host configurable). When a status is detected as flapping, it is "locked" on the most severe status. So if it was flapping between yellow and red, it will be locked to "red" status. installation problem

Hi all, I have done installation of xymon 4.3RC1, on Ubuntu 10.10. Everything work good, except xymon can provide index.html in www folder. I can't find where I missed to do something. Apache run and xymon to. How can I generated the index.html file to be able to see xymon homepage. thx David Raymond
