ISO documentation on flapping status?

We've got a bunch of servers showing as "flapping". I understand that this is a new feature but haven't found the docs on how to tweak it. Where and how can this be changed? thanks Betsy

how to see graphs for last week/month for perticular test ?snapshot report

hi, i have 2 problems.. 1)i want to see last month cpu utilization graph for the perticular host,how can i see that? 2)when i want to see snapshot report for say date 2dec09 7:30am,front pages(bb-html etc) shows time stamp of 2dec09 7:0am,but when i click to see status of perticular test of perticular host,it shows me status of 29oct09 12:40pm.how to overcome it? -- Pankaj V. Hi, I install xymon collector server and agent in the same machine. Apache server is running in the same server. Now I start collector server and agent both. After that I am trying to open web page with: http://19x.xxx.xxx.xxx/xymon/index.html I am getting following error: *Forbidden* You don't have permission to access /xymon/index.html on this server. ------------------------------ *Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at 19x.xxx.xxx.xxx Port 80* Kindly let me know how can I resolved this problem? AIX df command problem

I am having a problem similar to one recently posted, but this is on an AIX host and is caused (I think) by a problem in the way xymon does df on AIX. The xymon version is 4.2.3 and the AIX OS version is 3.5 (I think, I'm a Solaris Admin). Anyway, I can find no way to force the df on AIX to use POSIX formatting AND to report only local file systems. Even if I could, I don't think I can override what xymon uses for df since the comments in the hobbitclient.cfg file say that the envariable definition is only there for compatibility and it is not used. The problem is that an NFS mount file system line in the df output is being parsed wrong and the number in the usage column is being used for the percent used (Available) so that is a huge number. Not only that, again similar to the previous problem, the file system name is being picked up as the contents of the last 3 fields in the output line, i.e. it is not /mnt/tsmupdates (which is what it should be) but "3020485 50% /tsm/updates", which, of course, prevents me from effectively ignoring that file system. I've tried using DISK %.*/mnt/.* IGNORE and that doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have a big red page where we shouldn't have. IPv6 Support?

Has anyone looked at supporting IPv6 at this stage? IANA only has a little more than 150million addresses left that they can assign, and then the address pool is exhausted. Some are targeting March 2011 as the end date of IPv4 availability. My time for Xymon will be limited the next few weeks

Hi everyone, to avoid any worries I guess I'd better let you know that I'll be somewhat off-line for the next month or so. First I'll have a few days with very limited net-connectivity, and then I am going to have some eye surgery done - that means I will not be allowed to do a lot of reading or other computer work, so my activities with Xymon will be put on hold for a little while. (The surgery is nothing to worry about - I had a similar operation on my left eye back in 2008, and now need the same thing done on my right eye. And I'm getting older, so I have also developed a cataract that is being dealt with at the same time. Just need to avoid too much strain on the eyes for a few weeks after the operation). So don't expect to see a lot of mail from me for the next 3-4 weeks. Regards, Henrik

Hi I think it would be great that Henrik or someone else puts up a blank virtual machine with snmp support preconfigured of the latest stable Xymon e.g. xymon4.3.2 and vmware. It can be CentOS, Fedora or anyother Linux based OS. This will help to make Xymon available to the general public and much easier to work with. I know there is Debian one available. Its too old 4.2.0. The troubling part is upgrading/updating Xymon to the latest, also risky for non-advanced users. For Henrik or others is a piece of cake. Henrik you can do it on a regular basis if you find this worth. Just my 2c Thanks
