Hi. I am trying to improve the html e-mail alert script a bit. I want the background to be blue if the cause of a recovery is a disable. Is there some variable sent to the alert script that indicates that a disable is the cause of a recovery, or do I have to create logic for this in the script, guessing based on the colors in the status message? /Johan

Hello, I added this line to hobbit config by accident (a 'vim' accident ;-): 10.12.30.2929292929292929292929292929292929292929292929292929292929 metroli-be7 # And all network test become purple. It seems than xymonping stop working with bad formatted IPs: /usr/lib/xymon/server/bin/xymonping --debug --timeout=4 10.0.0.258 ¿Anybody know how to fix it? Thanks,

Has anyone made progress with this? I have the exact same problem with no solution and nothing interesting in the logs. As soon as I disable caching on xymond_rrd, the gaps go away. However as soon as I did this, the graphs for "cpu load" and "users and processes" both stopped updating completely. All other trend graphs are perfect. The nongreen.html file shows the host type and description from info column gets appended into the hostname. It was not like that with bb2.html This is an upgrade from hobbit 4.2.0 to xymon 4.3.2 So among other stuff I have the Host type and Description shows in info column as always https://xymon.example.net/hobbit-cgi/svcstatus.sh?HOST=storage.example.net&… Host type: Array Description: Loc 38B, S/N 12345678 However this info now gets appended into the host name in nongreen.html page like below and makes the page real wide with even longer description https://xymon.example.net/hobbit/nongreen.html storage.example.net (Array:Loc 38B, S/N 12345678) list of services column I must have managed to break a template? I removed the server/web/* and just uploaded /usr/src/xymon-4.3.2/xymond/webfiles/* using tar. Xymon crashes

Hi all, I've got the following problem: I used to run Xymon 4.2.3 on FreeBSD (using the ports collection) and it worked fine. However, when I upgraded to 4.3.2, I got all sorts of weird behaviour, so I decided to start from scratch. So I uninstalled Xymon, deleted everyting related to it and then installed a fresh copy of Xymon 4.3.2 (also via the port-collection) The installation goes fine, but when I start it up, the html files aren't generated. When trying to send a simple status message to hobbit (yes still at that level) , along the line of : /path_to_bb/bb my_hobbit_host "status+1d page.subpage green `date` `cat /somefile`" "somefile" is rather large, some 428k and I can confirm it works fine if I make "somefile" much smaller. Is there a way around this? The idea is to have this file as a page for reference. I personally think a better solution is to use access or excel (in mswords), but . . . boss wants it this way. joe a.

[xymon] a small ps parsing bug hp-ux 11.23 ia64?

Here is a sample ps output: > ps -Al -o pid,ppid,user,stime,state,pri,pcpu,time,vsz,args|grep tl1_am It may not be clear here with outlook formatting the text but it would appear that the ps output gets shifted towards the right to accommodate a bigger time column which leads to a parsing bug. My PROCS statement looks for this: PROC %^vt_tl1_am$ 1 TEXT=vt_tl1_am This will fail to find the process below if the time field goes over its allocated column space. Question concerning port monitoring

Greetings, We have a server that is running 3 different processes. In the hobbit-clients.cfg file, I have some PORT checks that are making sure they are listening on the appropriate port. The problem I have is if the DEV server is taken down for maintenance, I can't just disable the "ports" check, because that will disable the monitors for the PROD and TEST ports. How can I go about splitting out the port checks for a server and being able to enable/disable/acknowledge separately? Thanks, Tom
