I recently updated my server from Xymon 4.3.0-0.beta1 to Xymon 4.3.0-0.beta2. Since the update I no longer have access to Client History.

msgs mail.log bug in html with <..> ?

Hi, i have configured msgs log monitoring with Xymon version 4.3.9 in the the plain sight its shown ok like [msgs:/var/log/mail.log] ... B906930095C: to=<example at exmaple.com>, .. but in html site only ... to=, ... is shown same is with from=<...> lines looks like some bug at create html with char <..> any idea how to fix ? -- Best Regards MfG Robert Schetterer

Hi everyone, I am trying to compile xymon 4.3.10 on a Solaris 10 SPARC 64bit server. Then, googleing I found a suggestion about adding LIBRTDEF="-lrt" in build/Makefile.rules I did it, but nothing changed. Can anyone help me investigating the error. Kind regards, Daniele Barreca

xymon_distribute alternate channel

Anything stopping using xymon_distribute on the status channel instead of the enadis channel, and having it forward out status messages as appropriate ? A kind of relay/forwarding to other systems? Changing the test output description for purple test status?

I'm a bit of a Xymon newbie, but haven't seen any info on this... As you know, when a test goes into not responding status, the description associated with it stays as whatever it was when the test last successfully transmitted data. We have our Xymon set up to send alert emails when a test status is purple (our tests are run by a script that has been known to get stuck once or twice in the past, we want to know when this happens so we can bounce it) and some of the recipients are understandably confused when they get alert emails where the test status is correct in the subject line, but the status as described in the email body shows something like "check succeeded OK" rather than something like "Error: Did not receive any data from this test". Does anyone know if it's possible to automatically change the description text of a test when the status changes to purple, and if so, how? Thanks!

I have tried to follow what instructions I can find for a new Xymon installation. I have installed the latest 4.3.10 of Xymon on a Dell R-710 with CentOS 6.3 (install option - web server) installed. Extra disk graphs

Hi, Solaris 10, xymon 4.3.10 I want to make some custom disk graphs for capacity reporting. Ie, out of 20 filesystem reported by the normal disk function I want 3 graphs of my choice in one extra graph. The standard graphs should still be there. I tried different definitions in xymonserver.cfg in TEST2RRD disk=rootdisk (gives me what I want but the rest of the disk-graphs are a broken links) disk,disk=rootdisk (no luck) rootdisk (this generates nothing) in graphs.cfg ( I copied the [disk} def and changed FNPATTERN) [rootdisk] FNPATTERN disk,root.rrd TITLE ROOT Disk Utilization YAXIS % Full DEF:p at RRDIDX@=@RRDFN@:pct:AVERAGE LINE2:p at RRDIDX@#@COLOR@:@RRDPARAM@ -u 100 -l 0 GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:LAST: \: %5.1lf (cur) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:MAX: \: %5.1lf (max) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:MIN: \: %5.1lf (min) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:AVERAGE: \: %5.1lf (avg)\n I could probably go the long way around and create a custom script and use NCV. sending alerts about disk usage - multiple destination

Hi, my question is probably trivial, I apologise for that. I would like to monitor disk space on on multiple disks on one server and send messages to different recipients distinctively. i.e. I would like to send space usage warning messages related to "C drive" to email Recipient1 and do not want to send any message about it to email Recipient2 Also I would like to send space usage warning messages related to "D drive" to email Recipient2 and do not want to send any message about it to email Recipient1 I was trying to play with regular expressions, but I failed miserably.
