How to tell if Xymon OpenSSL is enabled?

So at first I compiled Xymon with no SSL. Then I re compiled it over the existing xymon (I made sure it is shutdown first) with the following in the Makefile . the configure.server added the below flags: (Ubuntu 10.04) # OpenSSL settings SSLFLAGS = -DHAVE_OPENSSL=1 SSLINCDIR = -I/usr/bin SSLLIBS = -L/usr/include/openssl/ -lssl -lcrypto RPATHVAL += /usr/include/openssl/ How can I tell if it was successful? When I added the following to the hosts.cfg file; <ip> hostname # ssh https://mydomain.com ssh-tunnel I get the following in the xymon status page: = https://mydomain.com/ - Connected, but got empty response = this is in the 'http' category. should there be an 'https' category added? Is there a way I can surely tell that the Xymon compiled installation has full openssl support? TIA!

Procs not reporting

Big Environment

Hello, I'm planning to use XYMON with a big amount of clients: 1000 and then 4000. Is it possible ? Are there some tipps and limitations to know ? Combined memory test

By default, we get alerted if Actual memory exceeds X or if swap exceeds Y. What I really want to know is if Actual + Swap are both highly utilized at the same time. Has someone solved this already? Thoughts?

Procs not reporting

I had a redhat client and have xymon running on it but it's not reporting what I have in the localclient.cfg file. It's only reporting (conn, http, info, smtp and trends) which is what the server has been configured to look at. I have the following in my file: HOST="lists.domain" UP 1h PROC httpd 1 5 PROC postfix 1 15 Bothing is showing up under PROCS on my server. I know I am editing the right file and that the service is running. Both configs have the same host name - what am I doing wrong. I am running the latest version of xymon. I also have both machines on the same network and they can see each other so I know it's not a port blocking issue.

Dropping Tests and Hosts

Hi all I have seen a few posts recently regarding the misery of dropped tests, and wanting the data back. It's easy to understand how this happens. Often, management and/or support groups are sure they don't need something, and then change their mind. Not only is it a pain, but many times, the data is lost. Here's how we tackled the problem. We created a page off the main menu, called "Decommissioned", but what to call it is largely irrelevant. Any time a server was decommissioned, it would be moved to there, with the NOPROP* tags. (See the hosts.cfg man pages) This would allow us to go back and review any historical data if we chose to. In the event where the host name was recycled, I would use the rename facility to rename to hostname.old, or something similar. I also put a comment in the hosts.cfg, to indicate the date it was put into the decommissioned page. After it had been there for a (indeterminate) period of time, we would eventually remove it and give it a decent burial. The same strategy would be applied to dropped tests. In the Decommissioned section, you have a second entry for your host, with the "dropped" tests. In the main page, use group-except, or one of the other group-* settings to exclude the dropped test from view. This would keep the dropped test alive, and possibly even collecting data, but it would appear to be removed. The advantage of this is that decommissioned servers are not dropped, and dropped tests are not deleted, giving instant access to the data should we need it. Historical data is available for comparison, and old tests can be reinstated quickly should somebody decide they really do need the data after all. Not much help for you poor folk who have already lost data, but might help preventing a similar event in the future. Regards Vernon

Remove one line of multiple from a test's graph

Hello, I don't want to drop a test, but I'd like to remove an error from the graph of that test (which is also graphing the data I *do* want, hence needing to not drop it). I have: i.p.add.ress hostname # http://www.site.com But on the graph I have both www.site.com and site.com graphed... except site.com shows as NaN across the board, and www.site.com is doing what it should be. I'm not sure why. Site works with either, but I only need to graph one anyway... Unable to re-add dropped test.

I have used the drop test command for a host, and now need to get the test back. But no matter how many times I add it back in, it refuses to show. Is there a simple cmd or process I could do to get my dropped test to show?
